Eris 1 - FPV Kamikaze Drone - Falkner-Muir

Description

The Eris 1 is a relatively (for SW) small FPV kamikaze drone similar to those widely used in warfare today. It is designed to explode on impact with a vehicle and is supremely fun to use. The drone can also implode on command. Ram it into your enemies, but mostly friends at will.

WARNING
Due to many bugs with Stormworks MP, this vehicle will struggle when used by a client on servers. In multiplayer, vehicles that are further away from you update their physics state at a reduced rate. This means that when the drone is as short as 100m away from where you are as a player, the drone will begin to rubber band around, making it nearly uncontrollable. If you are the host or playing in single player, then there should be no issues.

MP viewing scope vehicle update rate not set to camera position. #27321[geometa.co.uk]

  • Turn on "Enable Drone"
  • Press "RELEASE PARKING BRAKE"
  • Takeoff
  • Arm the drone by pressing 3
  • Fly towards your friend, and crash into them.
  • Kill
  • Press 4 to stabilize the camera with the horizon (looks smoother)
  • Press space when armed to manually detonate

Q: The drone keeps disconnecting
A: Please comment, this is an issue with SW MP that I have been trying to resolve.

Q: The drone is extremely hard to control (in MP)
A: Please see the issue I talked about above under "Warning". This is a major issue in MP that is caused by "performance" improvement features added to the game relatively recently. There is nothing I can do.

Anonymous Sandwich for the drone n stuff

Sebastiaz for the original frame of the drone.

As long as you provide credit where credit is due, I have no issues.

Would it be okay if I possibly was to take heavy insipiration from this for my experimental fleet of autonomous vehicles, like Carrier Command 2?

Absolutely okay, feel free!

Would it be ok if I put this on top of a AAV I am creating? I will credit you fully and its also not like its gonna make much attention on the workshop since I am not a good creator yet.

Is no one going to talk about how good the ad was for this?
