Description
USS Boise was the 6th ship of the Brooklyn class of light cruisers. She was laid down in 1935 and commissioned in 1938. She started the Second World War in Southeast Asia, and would participate in the battle of Cape Esperance, where she was struck several times, including a hit to her magazine that nearly doomed the ship. She was repaired until early 1943, when she would shift to operate in the Atlantic. After the end of the war, she would serve in the Argentine Navy until 1978 as the Nueve de Julio
