Description
The EMD F59PHI is a diesel-electric locomotive used primarily for commuter rail service in Canada. The "I" denoting the isolated cab introduced. Originally produced in the GMD London Ontario plant, problems arose that lead to EMD outsourcing production. Primarily to Super Steel and Alstom in New York.

EXO has 11 F59PHIs as part of their commuter rail fleet. They were originally purchased by Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and started running revenue service in 2000 and 2001.

West Coast Express's took their order of F59PHIs in 1995, these locomotives are currently undergoing a rebuild and upgrade to extend their live and modify their engines for reducing their emissions.
