hello everyone! i have had a project in mind or a idea that was itching inside of my head ever sense i have been making addons! this is a idea i decided to make and i thought that anyone who is a space geek like me. would enjoy. what if you could have a a thing that projects space into your map kind of like the room lights you would get you know those things that projects lights on your roof that looks like stars!? yeah this is simply a projector that you can put into your map and activate it to project planets, stars, nebulas, ect up in the sky of your map! but instead of it just being stars you can have holographic like planets and stars and suns ect this is taken me almost a week to work on!

about the addon:
1 everything is randomly generated!
yup! that's right! all planets and stars and the solar systems and ect besides the textures are all random! this is done
not only because i wanted this! but this makes it not so repetitive! and as you all know space is very random as well!
some things such as rings around planets and nebulas have a random chance of spawning every time you activate it

i added a couple of Easter eggs so the chances of finding it is 1 out of 300 chance!

2 USE:
to use it. just press E on it the thruster projector and it should project some space for you!

things to keep in mind:
bugs:

1 you can see the stars and stuff through planets: yeah! this is due to how light flare vmt's are and might not be able
to be fixed

2 may impact your FPS! i have tried and worked my butt off to optimize this but it seems to run okay! but
but just a fair warning that this can impact your FPS that i am unaware of but this should run just fine on a lot of
systems even with a older graphics card! so it should run fine but if i was to truly optimize this addon! it would require
cutting corners which is something i don't want to do. but with updates i will try to

i will try to solve these bugs later on down the road or soon!

recommendations:
pitch black or very large dark empty space maps are recommended! turning this on in any maps that have buildings
or a lot of structures and with bright lights such as day time and even minor lit maps can cause light pollution with the
planets, stars, ect and ruin the experience! so i recommend going to my map that i created only for this!

i recommend changing graphic settings to high or max for better visual's and at least a good enough computer to
handle this just incase of FPS impact but you shouldn't need a fast pc. just one good enough!

limitations:
1 edicts limit: the amount of planets, stars, systems, ect are limited as this is due to the game engine's edict's limit so
you will not get like millions of stars and stuff as this will not only impact your FPS!? but also throw edict's limit error
and not spawn
so i had to reduce the amounts that are generated to keep edicts limit free but you will still get a lot of it but not like
close to thousands! unfortunately. this is something i cannot fix and if you run out of places to explore then just turn
the projector off and on again to regenerate more so make sure to only do this in more large and empty maps as this
can cause an error or crash your game! so make sure to not spawn too much stuff in the map

2 textures: even though things are randomly generated! the textures are not and are randomly chosen. but. the gas
giants have random RBG colors! but i do plan on trying to add randomly generated textures but this might be hard!


planned features:
here are some planned features i plan on adding down the road!

1 procedurally generated textures:
i plan on adding this but it might be kind of complex as i want players to be able
to have always new planets to explore instead of same old repetitive textures

2 blackholes:
not sure how this will work but ill soon implement it!

3 comets:
this will be added later on

4 galaxies:
some in the comments have suggested to me about adding this but
due to the size and edicts limit and performance, it might be kind of impossible as a
galaxy contains stars nebulas but i might just have to make them small for looks.

5 small UFO's:
yeah! this might something players can look for or hunt for i thought it would be
kind of fun tbh
