What I do for those songs with inconsistent BPMs, is I open up a tool like Audacity and record the exact timings of about 10 beats throughout the song in a spreadsheet: beat 13 occurs at 5.853 seconds, beat 77 occurs at 37.080 seconds, etc.

Then, I have a formula "=60*(A3-A2)/(B3-B2)" which calculates the BPM for each section, and I feed those exact numbers as BPM change events into the game.

It's nice to be able to calculate those exact numbers so I don't have to guess!

Thank you poobslag! I actually had a little trouble with accuracy as well. When I looked in audacity the beat isnt exactly 98bpm the whole time and kind of ebbs and flows over the course of the song from 97.9-98.2 bpm. I almost gave up right there!. I put a couple bpm changes in there and did the best I could. Definitely open to working out the timing a little more.

Thank you wilhelm! I saw you got a full combo, nice!! It’s funny you mention how fast it is, cause I charted probably 40% of the song at 98bpm and when I tested it, it just wasn’t working for me. So I tried to be really mindful of making it playable while site reading even though it was super fast.

I agree, I would like to do other difficulties but it’s a lot of work, and I haven’t noticed too many people playing the charts so for now I’ve stuck with a single difficulty

Really creative chart, and I love how the notes emphasize the beats in the melody and drums. It's something you do really well that I need to improve on, having really interesting varied rhythms throughout the song instead of focusing on a a more steady "1, 2, 3, 4" beat like you see in games like Dance Dance Revolution. You did a really good job with that here!

I also had trouble with accuracy, I think in particular the end of the chart tilts towards the early side. I'm not sure if it's due to a fractional BPM, or if perhaps you had to splice the song and accidentally cut a few milliseconds too much.

sweet! loved the song, loved the chart! definitely a bit faster than i'm used to, so it was harder to maintain good accuracy, but i enjoyed it nonetheless! i really loved that slime shredding section, felt really fun to execute. there's not much to dislike for me at least, but what i'd like to see is difficulty variety so other players of different skill levels may enjoy the chart as well. but as someone who also has a bit experience making charts, i understand that it's a lot of work to adapt the level to different difficulties, so i'm just throwing it out there! :rift_merlin:
