Description

May I introduce you all to the Combine Marksman. This is a Combine Metro Officer that specializes in mid-to-long range engagements. They are not as deadly as a Combine Sniper, but are far more agile. Due to this nature, they tend to move around quite a bit rather than stay in a static location.

When at a safe distance from their target, they will designate their targets with a blue laser before firing. If the Marksman comes under fire, they will use their cloak to find a safe new vantage point.

When an enemy gets too close, they will attempt to move to a safe distance and will active their cloak if severely threatened. If they are unable to find a safe position, the Marksman will keep their cloak on and take shots at their enemy often without engaging their laser. As a last line of defense, they will throw a flash bag at their enemy in an attempt to blind them while they make a hasty retreat.

Features of this npc include:
  • The ability to jump to any valid nav mesh location on a map
  • Weapon: Combine sniper rifle with targeting laser
  • Active camouflage
  • Dynamic behavior based on distance to target
  • Strong self preservation instincts
  • Flash bags grenades for self defense
  • Custom voice lines
  • Female citizen animations

Feel free to offer feedback and suggestions. Such things help me with future development of addons. Of my npc addons this is one of the more complex when it comes to behavior. It has been a fun project and I hope you guys have as much fun with it as I have.

@rycch yes i found the problem. Currently, ANY Mod that modifies Blood and i think gore too, causes the problem of a second, unkillable but passive model spawning in when a VJ NPC is killed. The Assasin suprisingly still moves (the second model) so if anyone has this problem, just Deaktivate any mod changing the blood.

yep found out its with every VJ NPC, nothing else. know i need to find out What causes it.

yo ive had this problem with other NPC´s too (i think its every VJ NPC) that whenever i kill them, A new model appears. so then theres 2 in total: the dead one (ragdolling) and a new model that just stands there unarmed, and counts as neutral and is unkillable. i can delete it manually but its annoying still, so is there a way to fix that? i also use realistic deaths which might be the problem.
