KAI CC 281 Diesel-Electric Locomotive

Description

Made for the Alistair's Locomotive Build Challenge
Lore
Indonesia's fictional new locomotive to replace the CC 201 and CC 203's, to keep up with the developing world! Kereta Api Indonesia [KAI] rounded the CC 203 design, put on some new bogies, cut down the frame and slapped in a new engine. It's streamlined a bit for a tiny bit more of streamlining. Inside it's bland, but what matters is the new locomotive does it's job of pulling stuff. It's pretty good at passenger and freight, an all-rounder like it's predecessor. Unlike it though, the engine can be switched off if the carriages have a pantograph, so it's more eco-friendly too.

It has TCP 1.3 compatibility, and an actual cab. The generator is automatic, and so are most things. There is a pop-up chair for the driver, an extra seat, no heaters since this is in a tropical country, and four medium motors. Two are backups in case the first two blow out when you eventually pull that load that's a bit too heavy. It's easy to use, but a bit hard to go over 100 km/h with it. Though you can go above 300, it's not really recommended...
