A BIT OF HISTORY

Back in 2022, I started a project that sought to "port" or "remake" (I think remake fits this thing a lot better considering the scope of my project) KFMOD 2.5 right into the KF1 retail engine. It was a long and arduous task that I started while I was in my early years of college, and even though I have successfully launched my KFMOD 3.0 server, I'm still working on it till this very day. However, back then, I was missing a quintessential part of the KFMOD experience... the original KFMOD characters.

Someone who goes by the name of Zedek the Plague Doctor had done a very crude and really rudimentary port of them back in early 2010, 15 years ago to be exact. Back when I was searching for this pack in January of 2023, Zedek had long since nuked his workshop and most of his work is considered lost media to this day. Even if his port of the characters was rather broken, I thought I could improve it. Thankfully, a mysterious user called "!nsultPlyat" sent the only message I've ever seen him post which contained the original 2010 files. As broken as they were, this savior recovered this project from the jaws of darkness and I proceeded to fix them on Blender and make them as "good" as I could, while also adding some other changes (such as, for example, using the elusive MaleVoiceThree voicepack for some of the characters).

JK decided to tweak this a little bit more a few days ago and changed this from KFMODCharPackV3 to KFMODCharPackV4 by adding the 2.0 exclusive Soldier_Alex_Quick skin, a mysterious and dummied out skin that only showed up on KFMOD 2.0 before being ultimately removed in all following updates. Now that Alex Quick has become a playable character, I'm glad to finally release this to the public!

Great work. Now all we're missing is a mutator that replaces the merchant with the classic hooded version

@reptid Si, son de mi servidor KFMOD 3.0! No me gusta tirar el chivo aca en la workshop, no me parece correcto. Con JK pulimos el mod, mas especificamente agregamos un personaje que faltaba y decidi lanzarlo para todo publico.

@redips

There seems to be a misconception as to what's whitelisted and what isn't.

Whitelisted:

Mutators that cause server-side changes and don't affect the client in the slightest.

Graylisted:

Mutators that cause client-side changes (such as HUD changes, ZED changes, etc.)

Skins per se aren't graylisted if you play solo/offline. However, you won't be able to see them online unless the server you join has serverperks enabled to list them, and serverperks is graylisted, sooooo... you get the point. The only "whitelisted" skins that are usable online are those that replace client-side files, which are just lazy recolors anyway.
