Description
All the way from New Wirral: Carniviper, the Small Masked Snake from Cassette Beasts, arrives in the world of Aether!

Carniviper is a brawler character with balanced stats and low profile dash. It harnesses Cassette Beasts' Elemental Walls and attacks based on its remastered forms to assail its foes.

Gimmick: Poisonous

Carniviper uses poison like Ranno, applied by his Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Air, Neutral Special, and the poison wall spawned by his Neutral Special. His Down Special command grab gets stronger and heals Carniviper if the target has any stacks of poison, consuming the stacks.

Neutral Special: Elemental Wall

Walls are an important part of Cassette Beasts, so I had to include it somewhere. Carniviper spits a small poisonous projectile, that spawns a wall when it hits the ground. Carniviper can pass through the wall, though hostile characters will be damaged and poisoned if the try to step through (though they may still make it through with enough determination).

Like a non-Newtonian fluid, the wall hardens on a hard impact. An enemy target in hitstun that hits the wall will instead be wrapped, halting their movement and allowing for follow ups.

Forward Special: Stony Look

Taken from Maridusa, this simple move has low cooldown, short range and additional plasma stun on hit. If used on the Elemental Wall or summoning projectile, a new more powerful projectile will be spawned, once per lifetime of the article.

Up Special: Zephyr

Channelling Aeroboros, Carniviper briefly turns into a whiling tornado. A multi-hit that grants additional height in the air, and can be cancelled into a stronger final hit on the ground.

Down Special: Poison Consume

Poison Consume. Carniviper lunges forwards as a command grab, constricting the first foe hit.
If the target is poisoned, it will bite them, healing for a bit of damage and removing a poison stack. When all stacks have been lifted, it throws the foe down with a head bash based on its Jourmungold remaster.

Compatability and abyss runes

Mt.Dedede, New Kirby and Amber support. It also has a final strong, ⛧ P̵̝̃r̸̡̧͕͉̘̀ŏ̵̜͚̝͔̌̋͝t̷͎̗̊̋̋͜ȏ̷͖̹̭̓͒ ̷͎̽͂̿A̸͙̺̥̝̎́͜ŗ̵̹̙̯̻͛͌̒c̸̛̲̑̎̈́̎h̶͈͇́̔̊͑̄ȧ̵̮̠̲̦̬n̶̡̩͓̩̈́g̵̙̘̣̺͉͠ȩ̴͔͖̮̦̈́̈͝ḽ̸̹͙͖͒͐̂ ψ

Abyss Runes unlock 'Pyroviper' mode, where Carniviper gains burning attacks instead of poison, and bonus damage on its command grab instead of healing.

Carniviper has a home stage, and brought a friend, the Magikrab, as a buddy.

Since it is related, behind the scenes design notes on that attack, but it is full of Cassette Beasts spoilers:

It was originally inspired by 'Orb Fusions' which are described as Proto-Archangels, hence the attack name. Originally I was going to have the orb fire a projectile based on a Jumbo Carniviper fusion, but I didn't like how it looked. So then I had the idea... what would the Proto-Archangel look like if it manifested?

It's an original design, but I based the design most heavily on Aleph Null. Seemed appropriate for the Spirit of Conquest to be the progenitor of a fighting game character.

Requires a buddy called the 'final smash' buddy which, as the name suggests, adds final smashes to the game. Again, should be easy to find on the workshop. If it is listed under 'compatability' that means it works with existing Workshop mods. Make sure the buddy is active when you start the fight, and you'll be able to work it out from there.

The Carniviper package contains the character, the stage Night's Bridge Station (Carniviper's home stage) and the Magikrab buddy. All made by yours truly.

If you are looking for other Cassette Beasts stages, there is a good Harbourtown, but it predates the character and isn't mine. Steam doesn't like me sharing links in replies, but it is easy to find on the Rivals Workshop if you are interested in that too.
