Even tough the latest update changed the timing of the animation, and some of them are slightly desynced.
- Currently Glaxnimate, since I can easily animate vectors, just a bit hard to learn.
- Paint.net , to do the final touches, since glax doesn't use anti-aliasing when exporting to image sequence, so I change the project size to 4096 in glax, and downscale to 2048 in paint, so the borders blend nicely and the aliasing is not visible (Make sure to use lanczos when downscaling, it keeps the image sharp).
Previously I used Adoble Flash Professional (Yes, you can still use this tool in the current year), but the way the vectors work when animated was annoying, I don't have this problem with glax.
Probably there's better tools, If someone else does, let me know.
Yes, I make the portraits myself, using images as references.
I use the dimension of the previous mod by 96 LB, so 2048x2048 (I use these because I have a 4k monitor), but you can go lower as 1024x1024, and still look good.
For the character dimensions, I recommend check the extracted assets on the spriters resources website, so you can use these as reference. Something like Cadence as Hero and Dove as Counterpart.
You can also go into the files of custom songs, and find the CustomPortRifts folder where the files are located.
But what exactly you wanna know about the portraits?
you're the only one using custom protraits but they work so well!
