Description
“I present to you…..the Narrows MP training sim.”

I decided to do something a little different for my next MCC AI mod. This time, I designed a little multiplayer practice environment, kind of like what is available in Halo Infinite. The map features Spartan AI that behave somewhat like players you can encounter online in matchmaking. (A big thanks to MasterOof for originally designing these characters.) The map can be used to warm up for MP, practice strategies, or to just mess around and have fun with. A total of 7 game modes can be toggled for the AI to play with you, all from within the map via control switches. This is just a trial of this kind of mod, so fear not. I will still be making Campaign AI Battle maps. Depending on how you guys like this format - I can certainly design more mods like this on other Halo 3 MP maps of various sizes.


Features:

  • An endless AI war with all bots able to respawn indefinitely.
  • SEVEN gamemodes in one mod, all selectable with my AI switch system. More to come after release!
  • Pathfinding nearly everywhere.
  • Realistic AI weapon choices, using gear found on Narrows.
  • AI throw grenades in similar style as players, using grenade types found on Narrows.
  • You can trade weapons with friendly AI, just like in campaign. AI can use all weapons.
  • AI Shield and Health values identical to MP.
  • Bots can dual wield all compatible weapons, and use all equipment found on Narrows.
  • Bots use the exact same spawn positions as players.
  • AI come in Halo 3 Classic multiplayer armor sets.
  • AI feature accurate MP selectable colors. Both for FFA players, and team colors.
  • AI can use man cannons.
  • Bots can camp, rush, and predict enemy positions. All behaviors selected at random.
  • Bots can melee and use melee weapons.

AI Game Modes:

  • 2v2 Team Slayer
  • 4v4 Team Slayer (Default on game start)
  • 4v4 Team Hammers
  • 4v4 Team Snipers
  • 5v5 Team Slayer
  • 6 Way Lone Wolves FFA
  • Multi Team Slayer - 4 Teams

Joinable Teams:

  • RED*
  • BLUE
  • GREEN
  • ORANGE

*Red team is not officially compatible with an AI faction. In two team game modes, join Orange to be allied with the Red team. In multi team, join Purple.

**FFA players cannot be allied with, their teams cannot be joined.


Bugs/Quirks:

  • Co-op does not entirely function with this mod. Bots do not sync properly for clients. This is a networking limitation that only 343/MS can fix.
  • AI cannot actually pick up weapons, grenades, or equipment. They have large amounts of variations of gear they can spawn with. AI can spawn with weapon pickups they respawn near.
  • There are some leftover Marine animations for the AI. I did not have enough time to figure out how to remove these. This will eventually be fixed in the future.
  • Please keep in mind these are fan-made AI for a 17+ year old game/engine. They behave somewhat like, but are not capable of perfectly mimicking Human players.
  • AI have infinite ammo and seemingly bottomless clips with weapons.

@xevcv Regarding the 50v50 request. That isn't really possible with the Halo Reach game engine. The max amount of alive AI bots Reach can tolerate on map at once is 60 I believe. Beyond that, the bots start losing intelligence and become braindead (which would be boring). The game will also become unstable and could crash too.

I have a new Reach mod coming very soon that you will like. It should be very chaotic!

Dude, is there any way you can make more endless reach ai wars? And maybe go all in like add some buttons that make like a 50v50 so its chaotic? Or make one where you're a marine or odst in third person like how that mod Halo Reach-Infantry did?

3rd person is not planned. This is mainly designed to function like a Halo 3 online match.

@ChampovaNova Glad to hear you are having a good time! Yes I will be creating more mods like this. I have a new Reach UNSC vs Covenant AI war mod coming out soon. After that, I am going to be releasing another MP simulator mod for H3.

@12151209MS Make sure you are joining one of the teams listed above. Red team is not joinable due to game limitations, so in Red vs Blue modes, join Orange to be allied with Red. In 4 team, Purple allies you with Red. I hope this helps!
