Among the projects DFS has conceptualized, a VTOL has always been their stumbling block. The earlier Bisons were similar to VTOLs, but they were designed for space and therefore hard to control in-atmosphere. The build crew at DFS had some plans for a high-speed ornithopter VTOL, but never actually got around to building the machine. The technical team was, at the time, still figuring out logic circuits for other DFS projects, so they had no time to develop a VTOL system. But once they finished, the CEO presented the team with plans for a fighter VTOL. And they got to work. The idea for the Tenshi somewhat came from the Raven fighter jet, a previous DFS product. However, the major difference was that the Tenshi was a proper in-atmosphere VTOL, not some plane with vertical thrusters. The name 'Tenshi' is derived from the Japanese word for 'Angel', which best describes the VTOL's graceful mechanics. The Tenshi also features a new color scheme, dubbed 'Seraphim' by DFS's CEO.
