In this strategic two-player duel, the fate of Middle-earth hangs in the balance. Play as the Fellowship of the Ring, striving to protect the free peoples and destroy the One Ring — or as Sauron, commanding dark forces to capture Frodo and plunge the world into shadow

Passive Ability Tracking: Notifications now appear when triggered, and effects are automatically applied
• Stats are locked in at the end of each turn, preventing action changes
• Movement on the Quest of the Ring is now only possible when playing the appropriate cards/abilities/tiles
• Numerous QoL and stability improvements



HOW TO PLAY

A game plays over 3 successive chapters that unfold similarly. On your turn, strengthen your Skills, hoard your treasure, stretch your presence across Middle-earth, rally Races to your cause, or advance the Quest of the Ring

Turn Overview
Each chapter, players take available cards (not covered by others) from a face-up/down display. They can either:
  1. Play the card, paying its cost to gain its benefit, or
  2. Discard the card to take coins equal to the chapter number

Players can also buy Landmark tiles (from face-up options), placing them in their play area. This lets them place a Fortress pawn on the central board and activate the tile’s effects immediately.

Victory Conditions
Immediately win the game by fulfilling one of the 3 victory conditions:

The Quest of the Ring track
If Frodo and Sam reach Mount Doom and destroy the One Ring, or if the Nazgûl catch Frodo and Sam, they seize the One Ring the respective team immediately wins the game!

Conquering Middle-Earth
If you are present in all 7 regions (with a Fortress and/or at least 1 Unit), you dominate Middle-earth and immediately win the game

Support of the Races
If you gather 6 differen symbols on your Green cards, you rally the support of the Races of Middle-earth and immediately win the game

If none of these three victory conditions are achieved by the end of chapter 3, the player who is present in the most regions of Middle-earth (with a Fortress and/or at least 1 Unit) wins the game. In case of tie, share the victory

@Sandra Borger thanks for the report. it was related to the Landmarks and occurred when trying to deal the last tile. it's now fixed

Nice!! But I got a lua error after ending a turn as Sauron and Chapter 3 didn't set up automatically. I got "Error in script Global Function <StartLuacoroutine/StartNewChaptercoroutine>:UnknownError"!

It doesn't load all the models correctly, e.g. the LotR text at the top or the race tokens. What should I do?

I so appreciate you making changes so quickly! It isn't working for us in Hotseat, but maybe it's a "me" problem. What happens is when I set up the 2-player hotseat, I'm asked to provide name and color for Player 1 and then Player 2. But when LOTR takes over, it immediately asks again for Player 2 name. Then Sauron starts, and the scripting seems to work, but when you end the turn, it goes to Player 1 and no scripting seems to occur when you drop a card on that side.
