Description
A patch for Vanilla Races Expanded - Fungoid.

This mod removes the "Mind Coalescence" gene from the Fungoid xenotype (the gene that makes fungoid pawns share moods and suffer any mental break together) and replaces it with the vanilla "Psy-sensitive" gene. There appeared to be demand for this to be implemented and should be useful to those that do not want to deal with this aspect of the standard fungoid xenotype.

You may also see a slight performance improvement in saves with many Fungoid pawns on the map as the "Mind Coalescence" gene did have a slight performance impact whenever it scanned to synchronize the moods of the Fungoid pawns.

This can be loaded in an existing save, however it will only affect newly spawned Fungoid pawns.

Hey Tookatee, all these whingers are incredibly boring and probably have half the mods the criticise other's for using. Good stuff, fuck those nerds.

If you want to waste your time complaining over the very existence of these optional patches to an existing mod, then more power to you. I'm sure this is a spectacular use of your time.

Also, to claim that Fungoids are "vanilla pawns" with these patches running confirms that you have spent little to no real time interacting with the Fungoid mod, let alone any of these patches.

Well you just took out everything that make fungoids remotely interesting colonists so good job. Really going for the 'vanilla expanded' feel I see because these are just vanilla pawns now.

Nothing wrong with people choosing to tailor their Rimworld to their desire. Also nothing forcing anyone to use this patch if they don't want to.

If you want an actual answer to why anyone would want to use this patch, read the mod description. Although your comment comes across as coming from someone who hasn't actually tried to engage with the Fungoid mod in any way beyond it being yet another hostile xenotype to kill, which is not the intended audience for this patch. In fact it doesn't affect those types of players at all since they would never purposefully get themselves infected/recruit the ancient fungoid pawn.

And I would suggest running a fungoid colonist as well (alongside my other patches), makes for a very interesting xenotype to have as a colonist.

Dude fungoids are meant to suck you arent supposed to have them as colonists. Why even install the mod if you're just going to do this
