CTRC-S07 | MOW Locomotive

Description
From the minds who brought you the CraftTech Public Toilet comes the latest innovation in rail transport technology, the CTRC S07 DC Electric MOW Locomotive is ready to meet the toughest demands of your rail operations, this 3-axle electric locomotive is purpose-built for maintenance-of-way (MOW) tasks and switching duties. Designed with both power and practicality in mind, it’s an ideal solution for rail operators who need a robust, eco-friendly, and versatile locomotive on hand.

Key Features:
High Tractive Effort
Equipped with a powerful electric drivetrain, this shunter delivers exceptional pulling power – more than capable of moving heavy consists, work trains, or equipment sets with ease, even on challenging gradients or in confined yard environments.

3-Axle Configuration (C-Axle)
The locomotive’s 3 powered axles ensure maximum traction and stability, distributing weight evenly for safe and efficient operation across various track conditions.

360° Visibility
Engineered for clear sightlines from the cab, this unit enhances operational safety during yard movements and trackside maintenance. The panoramic cab view is perfect for crews working in high-activity environments.

Integrated Hydraulic Crane
A built-in, rail-duty crane provides on-the-spot lifting capability for maintenance tasks such as replacing ties, moving materials, or positioning rail segments. This self-contained feature reduces the need for external lifting equipment and streamlines workflow.

Zero-Emission Performance
Its fully electric drive system supports sustainable rail operations with reduced noise, lower operating costs, and no on-site emissions—ideal for use in tunnels, urban areas, or enclosed facilities.

Operator-Friendly Design
Spacious cab with ergonomic controls, easy access points for service crews, and rugged construction for long-term reliability in the field.

Whether you're expanding your MOW fleet or upgrading to electric power, this locomotive brings together muscle, maneuverability, and modern technology in one versatile package. Ready for deployment and built to perform.

Operation

Startup
  1. Enter the cabin and switch the top row of breakers to the "ON" state.
  2. Take a seat and request Master if needed.
  3. Use the "Doohickey" for combined throttle and brake controls, and reverser to go backwards.
Troubleshooting
"The locomotive is dead and not moving."
Underneath the frame above the backleft axle (below the blowtorches) is a "DC Disconnect" that will stop the trains power. The two options are to either; A. unflip the disconnect restoring the locomotives power, or B. in the event the DC power generator is damaged utilize the Secondary Power Links found on the buffers to restore emergency function. NOTE: When using the Secondary Power Link the motors will not receive power so tractive effort must come from a separate source.

"The Crane is unresponsive to input"
The crane uses RX controls via a RC remote, activating the crane and setting the designated channel are decided via an instrument panel in the cab located on the ceiling above the control stand. Ensure the Crane RX unit is both active and that the set frequencies of the remote and receivers match.
