RimPikmin

Description

Bring the charm and strategy of Pikmin into RimWorld! This mod introduces fully functional Pikmin as plant-based helpers who grow from adaptive seeds into unique, specialized helpers, each color representing a unique role. Whether for hauling, combat, exploration, or morale, Pikmin offer a lively and powerful addition to your colony’s survival story.

You can only have 100 active pikmin at a time, but that doesn't mean you can't get more *Winking face*

These are small creatures that can carry a stack of 2 for each Pikmin. A Purple Pikmin can carry much more, plus items, chunks, etc!

The Pikmin can be drafted to attack, move, or any of their specific jobs.



In order for Pikmin to be active they need their home, the Onion, or they won't come out.

Every night, the Pikmin (except Glow Pikmin) will start heading to the Onion for rest till the next sunny day. So don't be surprised if they get drafted and stop being drafted after a few seconds.


Since there can only be up to 100 Pikmin, what if someone wants to have all Purple Pikmin or switch to all Yellow Pikmin? You can make a pawn access the Onion Trade UI screen to remove or add all the Pikmin you want replacing.

Colonists can bond with Pikmin, improving their mood and work efficiency when Pikmin are nearby.

1.6 Update Only
- Added a setting to auto eject pikmin. A pawn can now automatically take out pikmin.
- Wing Pikmin can now fly!
- Since they changed pathfinding. All pikmin can travel via water terrain, but with reduce speed. (Minus the ones who can usually cross water)
- Pikmin can now auto feed the onion.
- Blue Pikmin can now fish with the DLC, no need for fish mod.

I also couldn't see RimPikmin under Mod Options so I tried enabling just RimPikmin and it showed up as expected.

Checked the log with my usual mod list and found an error from RimPikmin related to Vanilla Fishing Expanded. Enabled everything except for VFE and the mod options show up. Put VFE back in and the mod options disappear again, so seems to be a compatibility issue with VFE. Reordering the mods also didn't help.

Error while instantiating a mod of type Pikmin.PikminMod: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> HarmonyLib.HarmonyException: Patching exception in method static System.Reflection.MethodBase Pikmin.VE_Fishing_Patch::TargetMethod() ---> System.Exception: Method static System.Reflection.MethodBase Pikmin.VE_Fishing_Patch::TargetMethod() returned an unexpected result: null

@Chernobyltoast, Sadly there not much room in the UI to add a box that you can type in a number.
Pikmin Wielding weapons, shouldn't be a thing. Thanks for letting me know haha

@chernobyltoast how do i access the mod settings than? because rimpikmin doesnt show up under the mod options tab. do i have to access the config directly?

Are the pikmin supposed to be able to equip weapons?

@KingOlimar theres a toggle in the mod settings. you can set the amount when interacting with the onion, though setting the number to release is done with a slider which makes it kinda hard to set exact numbers. it would be nice if you could type in the number instead.

SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS I LOVE PIKMIN!!!!

for the storyteller idea how about Olimar (going with rimworld nomenclature Olimar Original),

could emphasize Dandori by favoring you the more world map quests you do or the more maps you have active.

again cant stress enough how happy this makes me!!

how exactly do you get a pawn to auto eject pikmin? maybe im missing it but im not seeing that anywhere on the UI or any drop downs
