Description
Still during the stay in Yama campaign, survivors encounter another mischievous prank by "Black Liege" god. This time, a man with black suit & face covered in mask fell on the roof. Some of native people there were familiar with his outfits & called him a ninja.
Nick: "Oh Christ...! Now it's a ninja...?!"
Ellis: "Oh my God, oh my God!! Now this is very cool...!!"
Nick: "Now what, Ellis? You want to learn about climbing walls like a Spiderman too, huh?"

That ninja soon introduced himself as Hanzo Hattori. After, learning the situations explained by Ellis, he taught survivors & native people there a simple ninja art. It's a "Knife Throwing Arts".
Nick: "Too bad, Ellis. You're not going to be Spiderman..."
Ellis: "I don't mind. Throwing shuriken is also cool...!"
Coach: "I wish someday I can have some cheese burgers or chocolate falling from the sky."
Nick: "Maybe later this funny god can send Majin Boo for you, Coach, to teach you how to turn zombies into chocolate. Heheheh..."
Coach: "......" *glared at Nick*


So that's for the background story for fun :D . Now, about this mod, this is similar to "Baseball Martial Arts", but it's for knife. The basic mechanisms are the same how to collect & use the knife. with slight differences on the effects. I'll explain more on the mechanisms below.

List of features available on "knife throwing arts.txt":
  1. Knife Throwing User: Which type of survivors can use "Knife Throwing Arts" (bots only/ players only/ all).

  2. Knife Throwing Type: What type of knife is thrown (normal/ explosive/ burning knife).

  3. Knife Throwing Timer: How long until the thrown knife disappears. This also affects how far the knife is thrown before it disappears by the countdown timer. The value is in second, & can be in decimals. Minimum value is 0.2 (0.2 second).

  4. Knife Throwing Damage: How much is the damage of the thrown knife (for explosive & burning knives, they always kill common in one hit no matter how much the damage is as common are weak to explosion & fire. Uncommon like Jimmy Gibs & ceda may immune to burning knife).

  5. Knife Swing Count: How many knife attacks until you get a throwing knife.


Mechanisms of "Knife Throwing Arts":
  • Keep attacking with knife until you get a throwing knife via chat notification.

  • Hold E (Use) & then attack with knife to throw the throwing knife.

  • The original knife won't be consumed, as it only consumes the number of throwing knives.

  • The throwing knife has different effects depending on the value set on "Knife Throwing Type".
    Normal Knife: When successfully hit, there's blood splatter on the targeted zombie. & the targeted zombie will stumble.
    Explosive Knife: When successfully hit, it triggers explosion in radius of 100 (almost 1.5x melee range).
    Burning Knife: When successfully hit, it burns the targeted zombie.

  • "Knife Throwing Timer" is used for regularly cleaning the throwing knife. It's recommended to set it to low numbers below 5, to prevent excessive number of throwing knives populating the map.

  • The throwing knife can bypass riot zombie's armor.

  • The throwing knife is reset to 0 on the next chapter/ round.

  • Except the explosive knife, other knife types can't damage object.


Q: "Can this work together with Throwable Melee?"
A: "Yes, it can. Throwable Melee uses R + ATTACK to throw melee, while this one uses E + ATTACK to throw a knife."


NOTES:
  • As the throwing knife uses "weapon_melee_spawn", it means that other survivors can pick the throwing knife. So, if one survivor has knife, that survivor can share knife with other survivors by throwing the knife at wall or doors & let them pick it (you can become a knife merchant with this :D ).
  • a known bug: The damage is triggered twice. It means that if you set "Knife Throwing Damage" to 50, the total damage when hit will be 100.

@kurochama , if you get onto a turret while holding the knife, the number rises very quickly.

@multoman , possible. but the result will be slightly different, because spawning pipebomb manually will make the pipebomb unable to explode trigger ticking sound, so the explosion needs to be added manually. In case if you ask about GL that shoots molotov, there's already "Napalm Launcher" on my workshop so you can check it.

@lukepineda42 , probably you can try to suggest this on the recent riot shield mod. Afaik, it's still WIP so the author is probably open to some suggestions & ideas. That shield charge is actually a good idea, & it should be possible to make.

since the riot shield is getting love it deserves, i have an idea for this : riot shield charge/dash, basically you can use the riot shield like a charger, fighting fire with fire
