The Story of Perseus

Origin:
Some of Earth's dreadnoughts were built in the shipyards above Io, Jupiter's moon. Smaller asteroids and space debris were sent in the direction of Jupiter's orbit by collection ships. These raw materials then drifted slowly toward this big planet, but they where then captured by Io's super-heavy tractor beam emitters and processed in the smelters and shipyards above the moon. This occurred before the destruction of Earths sun and evacuation of the colonies of the solar system.

Details:
The ship Perseus is one of these dreadnoughts, the ship is named after a Greek titan of destruction. And that's exactly how this ship should be evaluated,it was not built with rare metals like the Osiris of the even bigger and better Mars shipyards for example. But made of simple, good old armored steel and lots of it, paired with a simple but efective ceramic protective layer. This made these ships easy to repair and maintain, even long after Earth's demise, whether in a small outpost or a newly thriving industrial colony. Unfortunately, these massive vessels were few and far between, as Old Earth severely restricted the construction of capital ships by private companies, only a few were built.

Armament:
The Perseus itself is a truly tough opponent in close combat. The ship is equipped with several twin-barreled babette battleship guns in the center of the ship. Additionally, there are several tactical nuclear missile launchers on the port and starboard sides. Unlike most ships of this class, which had little point defense against smaller targets, the Perseus itself is equipped with several point defense systems.
