7.62 mm Kalashnikov machine gun (ПК) - a Soviet machine gun developed as the single machine gun for the Armed Forces of the USSR.
The PK was adopted by the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1961. Used in many wars and armed conflicts 2nd sex. XX - c. XXI. According to the assessment of the American gunmakers of the US Army’s Center for the Study of Foreign Science and Technology, who conducted its wear tests, the PK is one of the best machine guns in the world, characterized by simplicity and reliability.
The modernized machine gun has been designated PKM.
