Description
The Polish-Austrian War was a war between the Duchy of Warsaw and Austria in 1809. This conflict was part of Napoleon's war between France and the Fifth Coalition, but French troops did not take direct part in it. The war ended with the victory of the Duchy, which significantly increased its territory and population, gaining part of the Austrian partition. This result was possible thanks to the good command of the Polish troops and the defeat of Austria in the war with France that was being waged at the same time.

In the Battle of Raszyn at the beginning of the campaign, the army of the Duchy of Warsaw, commanded by Prince Józef Poniatowski, was supported by allied troops of the Kingdom of Saxony. In the later phase of the war, only Polish troops fought against the Austrians.
