GE U30CG [Template]

Description
The U30CG was basically a diesel-electric locomotive built for and purchased by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (ATSF) for use in passenger trains; due to the ATSF desiring smooth-sided, streamlined locomotives leading its passenger trains (which the U28CG wasn't due to being a hood unit that the ATSF found to be too utilitarian), GE built what essentially was, mechanically, a U30C inside a full-width body with fluted stainless steel sides. Only six examples were built, all in 1967, and, despite being built for passenger trains, they only served that function until 1969 when a U30CG leading the Grand Canyon Limited derailed on Edelstein Hill, leading to the U30CG's design being suspected and, as a consequece, relocating both the U30CG and the U28CG models to freight trains - along with having their steam generators removed, and steam generator openings covered, and having the once fuel/water tanks converted to fuel-only, they also were renumbered (previously U30CGs #400 to #405, renumbered as #8000 to #8005) and repainted. While operating in freight trains, the U30CGs mainly served the Colorado area, along with some other minor assignments, and that lasted until 1980, when the ATSF traded in the 6 U30CGs, along with the 10 U28CGs, for 16 B36-7 locomotives; after being traded in, the 6 U30CGs and 10 U28CGs were scrapped. This mod aims to recreate, as accurately as possible, the U30CG, having 3-part RS3L horn audio, bell audio, light set-up, smoke particles, and engine audio - if you want to make liveries and/or spec edits off of this, you're allowed to, all I ask is for this to be marked as a Required Item and for proper credit to be given.

A friend of mine owns a pair of these in HO scale. 3D printed shells fitted to older Atlas chassis.
