Galactic Expansion; an AOTR - Dark Times Sub-Mod

Description

"The Clone Wars ended abruptly with the transmission of the C.I.S. Master Control Signal in 19 BBY, yet the Galactic Emperor’s promised peace and security has not come to the Galaxy. The Galactic Empire spreads its reach out from Coruscant, Kuat, Fondor, and Eriadu as far as the Imperial Navy can penetrate while the Moffs consolidate control of their sectors. Rebellion simmers, spreading its revolutionary influence throughout the Galactic Senate to Core World elites & Outer Rim paupers alike. The Black Sun and other criminal organizations flourish in the shadow of moons and backwater worlds. The Hutts have become bolder in their activities, clashing openly with all who they perceive to be violating their borders. Rumors fly from the long-isolated Hapes Consortium of the Queen-Mother's intent to expand her dominions in the Republic's absence. The scattered planets and organizations which once comprised the Confederacy of Independent Systems continue to resist the New Order defiantly, particularly in the Outer Rim. Even in the ranks of the Emperor's most loyal Clone Trooper corps, disillusionment is spreading.

The Dark Times are here. Even as the worlds of the former Republic are drawn into the iron grip of Palpatine's Empire, the galaxy seems adrift in a sea of chaos, lawlessness, and despair. Civil War on a scale never-seen before is upon the horizon; from the Deep Core to the smallest backwaters of Wild Space..."

Galactic Expansion is a Sub-sub-mod for Awakening of the Rebellion & Dark Times focused on expanding and correcting the Galactic Map for increased immersion, tactical flexibility, and greater scale-of-conflict. It is, like Dark Times, set in the years-following the events of STAR WARS: Revenge of the Sith. In addition, an increasingly-large roster of units, structures, heros, and planets have had their icons changed/adjusted for greater accuracy, consistency, and immersion.

Just as with the Dark Times submod, Galactic Expansion is and will remain a work-in-progress for the foreseeable future. Future updates are in-development to fill gaps, correct inconsistencies, and increase immersion in one of the most interesting periods of galactic history.

Featuring
  • 57 new/restored planets added
  • 1 new CIS hero, Nossor Ri of the Quarren Isolation League
  • Immersively-edited unit icons, descriptions, &c.
  • New, higher-fidelity models & re-balanced hard-points for select units
  • Frequent updates

@Dr. Quackers M.D. Set your games to only update when you play them, then only begin to play them in offline mode, with the internet off (this does not work if you try to change the steammod set in the properties, as it will always revert to the basegame and will not work when the Rimworld version itself changes) but with Rimworld you can always revert to previous versions by going into properties then betas and reverting to a previous version of the game. This will not work with mods on Steam, except for Thrawn's Revenge which has various un-updated steammods which you can access from Moddb and changing EAW to the 32-bit version, as well as Awakening, which lets you access older versions so you can go back to Dark Times 1.4. Dark Times does not however support the version that this mod ran on anymore, so you will just have to run a new version of the game and hope this submod updates.

Damn that sucks after a year of learning i was finally surviving on a rebel game on medium and now its gone. Why does my luck always have me starting games right before update, fallout 4 super special next gen update, Project zomboid build .42, rimworld 1.6!!!!!! Now I have to worry about a 10 year old game i thought would be safe from this nightmare of update avalanches! One entire year of playing all my modded games with out issue is all i am asking for universe!!!

@Siskeaux Hey! Thanks so much for responding! Super happy for you btw. And thanks for the help. How do I play the v1.5?
Siskeaux  [author] 9 Jul @ 4:52pm
@MiAh The King - Thank you. So yeah, that means I have not yet taken the time to update this from DT 1.5 to DT 1.6.1, and as such, attempting to play it with the latest version will almost certainly be riddled with bugs. I'll be getting around to updating it when I have a wee-bit more free-time, or update it for DT 3.0 when that finally arrives; whichever comes first.

If you'd like to continue playing with GE, I'd suggest using the older version of Dark Times, v1.5, for the least-buggy experience. (Still has plenty of bugs, though... :S)

@Siskeaux First of all congratulations! However, does that mean you're not gonna fix that it's broken? or at least answer our questions? Cuz i'm desperate to figure out why a LOT of the heroes are missing from the game now.

Hi guys! So I was just married a couple of weeks ago, and am currently ramping up with work. I will *try* to spare some time to update for DT 1.6.1, however I had made no plans to update Galactic Expansion until the release of DT 3.0, truth be told. Your patience is appreciated. :)
