Description
Always wanted to strive for the ocean floor with your music set? Now you can!
A small template that allows you to add your interactive music to the game. Adds a speaker and cassettes to play, which can be purchased at outposts' vending machines. Works even better with Soundproof Walls mod. Enjoy!

Is there already music?

Yes, there are 6 songs, maybe will add some more later (if necessary)

How can i add my own music?

  1. Press Win+R and type %appdata%. Proceed to \Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Barotrauma\WorkshopMods\Installed\3471542751.
  2. Copy this folder to \steamapps\common\Barotrauma\LocalMods
  3. Place your music in "Music" folder in .ogg
  4. Go to "Items" folder and open "MusicPlayer.xml" with notepad
  5. Find "Music file" and copy everything from <item name="cassette tape"... to </item> (don't get confused with </Item> and </Items>)
  6. Paste as many as many songs you want to add
  7. Change path (i.e. <Sound file="%ModDir%/Music/Template.ogg") and identifier (identifier="Template") for every one
  8. In game you'll find two copies of this mode - choose one from local mods
  9. Enjoy!

When i add my songs it writes "Hash calculation returned"

You should use one from %localmods% AND:

1. Open filelist.xml
2. Delete numbers after "expectedhash"
It looks like this: expectedhash="64F63210AC0F746893FE115D470B0071"
And should look like this: expectedhash=""

Can i add/change music in started campaing?

Yes, won't crash anything (probably)

I added music and chose "quiet", but can hear it in 100 meters, what's wrong?

You should use "mono" sounds for ranging to work, use any online converter
And you always can use "stereo" if one-ear listening is not for you

so, when they'll join server, it will suggest them to download all songs host has, so yeah, we'll hear them :)

but will they all be able to hear the custom music or does each one have to download all the songs

Probably there is no way to embed anything outside of barotrauma's folders without API to work with :(
