Description

Rim Effect is a large overhaul mod series, adding the story, races, objects, and conflicts of Mass Effect universe into RimWorld. The Mass Effect elements are not meant to stand out, and as such are blended into the RimWorld style by utilising the same naming conventions and writing styles.

Much like Vanilla Factions Expanded, the Rim Effect mod series comes divided into sub-modules, firstly to allow the players to pick exactly what elements they want in their games, secondly to ease the production and design process.

Rim Effect Asari is a first big race module in Rim Effect mod series, adding the story, races, objects and conflicts of Mass Effect Universe into RimWorld. This module introduces the Asari Republics, a true democracy culture known for finding the Citadel and leading the Citadel Council.

As an antagonist, alongside the Asari Republics come the Reapers, a race of sentient machines bound to continue the cycle and eradicate all life in the universe as we know it. The Reapers are an end-game threat that works similarly to VFE Mechanoids. Their ships land all around the planet, allowing them to amass a bigger force with every ship that makes planetfall.

This module includes all the iconic weapons and apparel of the Asari, a new playable race, Reaperised enemies and Reaper ships sporting a vast amount of new weapons, a new starting scenario and much, much more.

These mods will utilise Vanilla Expanded Framework and all the code within it, as well as Humanoid Alien Races framework, kindly provided by Erdelf. As such, both our Framework and Humanoid Alien Races are required to play with this mod.

The Renegade and Legacy versions are entirely separate and not compatible with one another, see the collection here for more information.

Q: Is this mod in any way related to RimEffect - Asari of the Rims?
A: Nope. We set out to create our own Rim Effect mod series, and not revive another mod. As such, we eventually had to make our own Asari mod. This mod is not in any way related to the original RimEffect - Asari of the Rims.

Q: CE Compatible?
A: Ask them.

Q: Is this mod compatible with Rim-Effect: Asari of the Rim mod?
A: Didn’t test, but both mods add overlapping content, so it’s one or the other.

Q: I don’t want the Reapers!
A: Great, go to mod options and disable them. Or adjust the condition upon which they arrive. Tailor it to your liking.

Q: Do I need Vanilla Expanded framework for this to work?
A: Yes. It’s a framework with vast amounts of interesting, important code.

Q: Do I need Humanoid Alien Races framework for this to work?
A: Yes, the aliens in the Legacy version of this series require HAR to function. If you prefer Xenotypes feel free to check out the Renegade version.

Q: Where are other Mass Effect races?
A: They will come in future modules. This module is only focused on bringing the Asari, as well as the Reapers, to the RimWorld scene. Other modules will focus on other races.

Q: Can I add it to an ongoing save? Can I remove it?
A: Yes, you can add it whenever you like. You cannot however remove it, so make sure to backup your save!

Q: Does this mod remove anything from vanilla game?
A: No. This mod only adds more late game content!
