Voxmapper/Biomes - showcase

Description
For the seasoned modder looking to push creative boundaries, I present:
Biomes!

Welcome to another entry in my showcase series - this map isn’t meant for traditional play. It’s a visual demonstration of what my custom tool, voxmapper, can bring to your own Teardown creations.
*these maps are strictly for example purposes only. Your own biomes and heightmaps will be created with your own creativity in mind, and your own heightmaps/grassmaps will be dramatically different than the ones displayed here.

Each terrain sample here was generated entirely with voxmapper, a program designed to output detailed, biome-ready .png heightmaps. With just a few settings and a tag input, it creates a complete heightmap and grassmap pair tailored to your biome type.

Those images are then dropped straight into the included biome_ground.lua script, giving you a fully modifiable template to build on.

Experienced users will be able to create and input their own custom biomes with full gradient.

You can try the tool yourself - it's available on my GitHub page[github.com].

Visit the Steam guide to get a detailed rundown on how to use voxmapper. Reading this guide is crutial to understand all aspects of this program and script. You're not going to get your desired outcome if you don't know what you're doing!
voxmapper-biomes: the Teardown heightmap/biome creator

Voxmapper is not the only program that can make heightmaps for your maps, but it is one of (if not, the only one) that is specifically streamlined for Teardown map making. Being able to set the appropriate height and grass amounts save time during the map building process.

How to use this map:
Select it in the mod manager, click Options, and choose one of the 37 pre-made biomes from the list to preview different styles.

Version 1.4.1 is out with fixes from the previous update and another rework of the Mountain (previously Noise) tab.

The 1.4 update has some weird bugs so it's best to keep using 1.3 until I fix them!

Voxmapper 1.4 has been released, go check it out! Some nice additions and some more improvements have been made. It's pretty neat.

Finally got around to updating voxmapper. The next update is gonna have an image importer tab that turns any image into a heightmap and a new landmass generator which makes natural land-like grounds. A few more tweaks and it'll be released.

Updated biome_ground.lua:
- complete code rewrite
- three gradient colors instead of two

The old biome_ground is still inside the "script" folder called "biome_ground_old.lua" in case the old method works better for you. It will still load the biomes normally with the updated gradients implemented into it.

Tweaks to the way the gradients are applied are coming. Nothing major, so that it won't disrupt the look that people are probably used to by now, but I did make it so they stand out more. I'll push the update as soon as it's ready.

Voxmapper v1.3 has some much needed GUI modernization improvements. Should be released sometime soon. A few tweaks left and that's it. Once again, thanks all, and I hope that we can see some cool maps made!
