Nerfed Tank rock's hitboxes

Description
Have you ever got hit by a tank's rock out of nowhere or still got hit even though you're sure you've evaded it?

Well, that's due to Valve's weird implementation of a special "tank rock hitboxes" over the survivors as a radius further than they are, this means as long as the rock went to this radius and there were no "obstacle" breaking the trajectory between you and the rock, it will hit you. The video above will explain in detail how exactly a tank's rock works.

So this is a simple script that aims to remove that aspect by reducing the value of the radius of the rock hitbox from 100 (default) to 30, which would be roughly around the radius of a survivor's body and height. Note that an AI tank is still capable of hitting you with a rock if you haven't sidestepping when he's about to throw it.

Works in local and delicated server only.

This video is not mine though, so idk which console commands show it. I assumed that it has to do with some sort of external plugins, hence the coordinates thingy running on the side.

There's a command called "z_tank_rock_debug" which reveal the trajectory and "detonation" point of a tank rock when it collided with something, so I guess that one could be an ok substitute.

Finally, a mod that makes the game less annoying.
Anyways what is the console command to reveal the hitbox as shown on the video?
I can finally parry properly the tank rocks with that one mod that allows to parry projectiles

No wonder I'd still get hit by the rocks when I sidestepping even when its distance is about 1 meter away from me, your video explained how it works perfectly. Now I know what to do about this ridiculous setting!

@R4NK4Z I assumed that is Value's attempt at trying to make tank rock a threat by making it easier to hit the survivors, especially given the limited development time of L4D2.

Instead of modelling a proper hit box for the rock itself, they simply modelled the radius instead as it's easier + it does the work, even tho flawed.

I think the AI Tank having a near-perfect aim is another proof that Valve wanted the player to view the rock as a threat, even tho in that case they exaggerated it by making it near impossible to dodge in some situation.

makes me wonder what the point of that radius is anyway
survivors have a hitbox, the rocks has a hitbox - why add a magical sphere that determines whether or not you are hit instead of just letting the basic hitboxes handle it

It's funny to see it in action, especially on Expert. The rock hits an invisible object far from where you are and somehow you get downed.

@Ares not fixed per-se, just that it made the problem of rock sniping much less apparent.

it fixed tank rock?

My God, it all makes sense now.
