JGR/JNR Class EF57 Electric Locomotive

This class was set up to increase the output of the class EF56,
and because of this history, the No.1 had the same body as the class EF56.

The body was further improved and changed after No.2,
and the pantographs were placed at both ends of the car.
Although it was an excellent type, when the EF58 type came into service,
class EF57 was left to operate long-distance trains, and it was used for trains in the Tokyo suburbs.
The No.7 is preserved in Utsunomiya.
