EK Vessun Mk-II

Description
EK 'Vessun' Mk-II
Prisoner Transport

Go to jail, do not pass go, do not collect 200 marks

"The 'Vessun' is a modified coalition heavy frigate. Retrofitted with a large cell block in-place of it's shuttle bay, the Vessun class was an attempt to standardize and streamline the secure transportation of high-value prisoners. It is not entirely uncommon for these vessels to be used in raids on separatist outposts. Reinforced against potential hull damage, and equipped with a dedicated backup life support system; the central brig has 3 cells capable of holding 6 total prisoners."

I don't really have any specific plans for more submarines, feel free to suggest what kind of subs you are interested in seeing made. For example: should I bother making more industrial/cargo submarines like the Huxley, or a newer up-to-date carrier submarine, or maybe a submarine less campaign focused and more roleplay/traitors oriented?

  • Fair warning that I only did fairly basic AI and campaign testing for this one, as I couldn't really get a crew together to do any multiplayer campaign testing. Remember: AI don't know how to remotely operate the cell doors.

I will probably be doing a smattering of various small-crew T1 and T2 subs in the immediate future. Some of which being more Jovian and small industrial ships, and some scout ships.

-with the new DLC announcement, honestly expect releases of submarines to be more infrequent again as I don't have much motivation to invest in this game now.

( Also expect that potential "EK mods remaster" to not happen after all )

Would love a non-retrofit version of this ship. Even if you just convert the brig into something else useful, I almost never get prisoner transport missions, so this enormous brig is mostly just a waste of space. Would be cool to have the shuttle bay back, but I understand if that'd be a pain.

Ah that makes sense, thanks for clarifying. As much as I enjoy your larger gunships, I can understand how they would be a pain to put together. Still, I look forward to trying out your smaller form factor vessels.

I have a couple of ideas for later large subs, when I end up getting back around to doing those, including some ones that fit that sort of expedition / research submarine archetype.

I might not be messing around with drones as much, just for effort and balancing reasons - but I will probably have at least some with small shuttles.

Unfortunately the 'Stiletto' relies on way too much integral mod stuff to port. The 'Bottlenose' is kind of the closest thing to a vanilla successor. However I probably will remaster the 'Myrith' gunship at some point.

As for vanilla subs, I'm going to try to do a remaster of the 'Huxley' - but it might be a while before that comes to fruition as I'm mostly going to be taking a break from very large submarine for a bit to do a big bunch of tier-1 submarines.

If you're open to doing updates instead of purely making new vessels, I'd love to see a revamp of the Stiletto pop up. Outside of that, I've really enjoyed your attack vessels so far.

"-should I bother making more industrial/cargo submarines like the Huxley-"

Personally, I would like to see a remake of that, possibly my favorite sub you did aside from the Marauder. Always did feel like it was more of a "mobile mining station" or "Submarine Fleet Tender" due to all the stuff it could hold. Especially the latter when mixed with other mods, I.E the EK mods and Enhanced Armaments.

Other than that... maybe a sort of 'Long-Distance Expedition" submarine? Similar to the Berith or Stiletto in size but with a focus on the crew and longevity like salvage/cargo submarines instead of combat-oriented ones.

Please make it so that on your submarines can be when improving the engine of the submarine, the speed changes. Otherwise, this improvement is useless and loses the point of buying a submarine. For example, on the submarine Daima or something like that on the maximum improved engine speed as was 18 and still remains
