Stop Moving My Scope!

Description
This mod disables the periscope from scanning / moving without player input. Additionally, when a non-officer uses the Observation Periscope, the periscope automatically retracts. There is a minor visual incongruity, where the sailor raises the periscope in the sub, but the periscope head doesn't move.

Advanced users can enable rotation in separate Camera Modes via the Settings.cs; the default values are equivalent to vanilla behaviour, which stops the rotation only in map mode.

Savegame compatible and uninstalls clean.

@DarkRaven My apologies I've had several bad days in a row, didn't read fully, and forgot that this was something I fixed for myself with the config file when I first installed the mod months ago. It worked so well for so long that I just forgot.

Not that I have any time to myself today, but sorry again for my misunderstanding.

@Vangeist One of the behaviors of this mod is that when a non-officer 'uses' the Observation periscope, it changes it the 'keep hidden'. This typically happens when an officer on the Attack periscope has more than 1 crew assigned to him.

This is intended behavior, as typically when submerged, players want the bonuses from a second crew member, but don't want the observation periscope to pop up. If the player wants to use both scopes at the same time, typically for gathering multiple targets data, they need an officer on both periscopes. Until a non-officer uses the observation periscope, the hide and show periscope buttons work. You will have to order the observation periscope to raise, as doing it automatically was causing a bug where you couldn't hide any periscope.

AFAIK, this mod uninstalls cleanly, so your save should be good to go. Sorry you didn't enjoy the mod.

I'm noticing that the observation periscope seems to default to "keep periscope hidden" when operated by either an officer or a sailor. Putting an officer on and changing it doesn't "stick" either, and toggling whether sailors are allowed to use the periscope also doesn't seem to work. I'm kind of hoping this behavior has something to do with this mod, but I also started a new save today. However, I also cleared cache, data sheets, and temp folders.

Here's hoping my save isn't borked.

hi, periscopes are not moved by the crew (although sometimes they do), but the main thing I noticed is that it is impossible to completely retract the periscope when someone from the crew is controlling it. the "always down" button does not work, and if you go to this workstation and lower it manually, then over time it will raise it again
