Halo Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser

The Marathon-class heavy cruiser (hull classification symbol: CA) is a cruiser classification in service with the United Nations Space Command Navy. Designed as the successor to the Halcyon-class light cruiser, the Marathon-class measures nearly 1.2 kilometers in length, features extensive armor plating, and is outfitted with two Magnetic Accelerator Cannons (MACs) alongside a formidable array of missile systems.

Primarily fielded during the Human-Covenant War, these vessels were frequently deployed in both offensive and defensive operations, forming the core of many UNSC battle groups. Due to their durability and versatility, they were favored by high-ranking officers as command ships and, on occasion, adapted for use in a light carrier configuration. Despite their effectiveness, the Marathon-class suffered heavy losses over the course of the war. Only a limited number remain active, now serving alongside their more modern successor, the Autumn-class heavy cruiser.

This is a re-upload of my original Marathon that I was unable to update. It’s still the same ship, just with a different coat of paint. The original 70 Archer pods were replaced with 14 to mimic grouped configurations. Alongside this, I also changed a lot of the weapon placements and completely overhauled the visual design. This is still an okay ship and gets easily outclassed by its Covenant rival, the Ket-pattern (which I also made). It’s a very fun ship to fly around and is decent at dealing damage, but it really needs fleet support to deliver the heavy hits. You can either use it in the back to chip away at targets or deploy it as part of your vanguard for devastating alpha strikes alongside other ships.
