LIM Halcyon | Missile Cruiser

The Halcyon is a deep space missile cruiser. Outfitted only for combat with minimal life support systems, this naval vessel can pack an absolute whallop even on its own. Although this missile variant came second in development, the original design of a [CLASSIFIED] configuration was not put into service with this name, instead being titled the "Halcyon Stalwart". Both variants see extensive use by the UESC (United Everdawn Space Command). One as a frontline brawler, while the missile variant is used as a very strong entrance into a larger fleet engagement.

This hull is not built for patrols, this hull is built exclusively for wartime operations. It possesses a shuttle bay in the rear for an LC-7 Pelican, but is designed to jump into an engagement, wreck larger volume ships, and stay to clean up the stragglers.

Sparking the development process was a need for a cheap hull stuffed full of the most potent weapons known to the UESC. This model, featuring 16x mk2 torpedoes in its modular weapons bay, and the Stalwart featuring the latest in railgun technology. Both obliterated everything sent against them, and both stood steadfast in their respective operations.

This production series, although featuring a cheaper hull, is layered with the latest in defensive technology. Layered armor befitting that of a capital ship wrapped around a tight interior, all with a modular weapons bay to field whatever was needed in the upcoming conflicts - that is the Halcyon's mission statement.
