Description
The Wyoming Highway Patrol was formed in 1933 after the Wyoming Department of Law Enforcement disbanded. It was first led by Captain George Smith, and started off with only a few troopers. By June of 2021, WHP had 208 sworn troopers on patrol, investigated over 8,000 traffic incidents, and removed over 1,300 intoxicated drivers. Sadly two officers have died in the line of duty. The Wyoming Highway Patrol is the second largest law enforcement agency in Wyoming.

The cops here ive seen 2-3 times in the past two months go faster than me and i was maybe 1 over lol.... So i have less trust for them respectively, but they are at least better than many other places in the nation so I'll give them that.

I haven't really had enough experience with city cops but I'd expect they'll either not ticket you for paperwork or are extremely strict. When I still lived in Virginia they'd pull over people for going even just 5mph over the limit which is what I'd expect in bigger cities too.

Yeah law enforcement is pretty tame, parents havent been ticketed the veyr few times they have been pulled since 2008, if they see you got a clean record and you havent done something too wack they usually let you off with a warning. Different story for cops in cities, they can be pretty thirsty especially when one of their little mid term type things are coming up to make a good check. Luckily i just got a 5.9 24 valve thats stock so i can't really get that crazy haha....

A few years back I was coming back from visiting family in Montana and one a two lane highway someone tried to pass a line of cars and I witnessed him nearly smack straight into an oncoming car. Luckily there was a pull off lane the oncoming driver went onto. So yeah 4 lanes definitely would prevent stuff like that.
As for that Sheriff, I've noticed law enforcement in Wyoming is generally pretty chill with stuff like that.

Yeah, considering higher speed limits and tired workers moving around 4-6 am and pm. I was following a camaro a few weeks ago going a few over and the sheriff just flashed his high beams at us to slow down (he was oncoming) so that was neat. But yeah state and county organizers need to widen the whole road up to 4 lanes with maybe a safety type fence in the middle, the passing lanes only make it worse I would say. It's been a plan for years but it takes so long and they sometimes do it in areas south of there so, just gotta wait it out for the annoying government entities.

Wyoming gets some pretty nasty wrecks, especially in the last few months

I once passed one of these going 84 MPH heading into Gillette, I was moving with the flow of traffic respectively. (THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME LMAO), but I was fine. It's fun up here but Highway 59 is the riskiest place we got in on the eastern side of the state, We once detoured around a wreck that took the lives of an middle aged man and a younger gentlemen, the whole thing needs to be 4 lanes with a small gap in the middle the whole 9 yards from Wright to Gillette. Coal Mine traffic mixed with Oil and Us Pipeline traffic makes it a horror movie somtimes.
