Description
Another phew-phew laser weapon, but this one is for pipebomb.


B: "Ok... Things start to go crazier now... I have a bad feeling about this"
A: "It's just your feeling... Heheheheh..."


This is another alternative for pipebomb other than "Saiyan Pipebomb". This pipebomb shoots laser, thanks to Ellis' crazy creativity after becoming an apprentice of Darth Vader's weapon mechanics. After making laser defib, now Ellis even made a laser pipebomb :D .

List of features available on "laser pipebomb.txt" cfg file:
  1. Laser Pipebomb User: Which type of survivor can use this pipebomb (bots only/ players only/ all).

  2. Laser Pipebomb Damage: How much the laser damage is in every 0.2 second.

  3. Laser Pipebomb Mode: Which laser mode is activated (Laser Turret Mode/ Laser Pillar Mode).

  4. Laser Extra Effect When Hit: What effect is triggered when laser hits zombies.

  5. Burning Laser: When enabled, laser will burn zombies.

  6. Laser Color: The color of the laser in RGB. The numbers represent colors in order (from left to right= red, green, blue). The format must be like the example on the cfg file to prevent unwanted bugs.


Mechanisms of "Laser Pipebomb":
  • When a survivor throws a pipebomb, laser will be generated in 0.5 second after pipebomb is thrown.

  • Laser damage consists of 2 types of damage: Base Damage & Custom Damage. The damage is per 0.2 second when hit by laser.

  • Base Damage deals only 1 damage, & survivors can also take damage.

  • Custom Damage deals damage based on the value on "Laser Pipebomb Damage". Survivors are immune to this damage.

  • Comparisons between "Laser Turret" & "Laser Pillar" modes:
    Laser Turret
    Laser Pillar
    Small laser beam
    Big laser beam
    Deals linear damage
    Deals area damage around the laser pillar
    The duration follows pipebomb timer duration
    The duration follows pipebomb timer duration
    Automatically scans for zombies in radius of 650
    Only scans zombies in radius of 200 around the pipebomb
    Shoots laser at zombies, with nearest zombies as top priority
    Only damages zombies around the laser pillar
    Can bypass riot zombie's armor
    Can bypass riot zombie's armor
    Cannot damage objects (non-zombies)
    Can damage objects (non-zombies)


Q: "Can this be used together with Saiyan Pipebomb?"
A: "It depends on which Laser Mode you use. If you use Laser Pillar mode, this one will be less effective on common infected as Saiyan Pipebomb will dominate over this one in killing common. But if the zombie is special infected or tank, the Saiyan Pipebomb will collaborate with Laser Pipebomb by doing a 'Laser Pillar Lock Trap' that warps pipebomb to the special infected's location & at the same time deals more damage by the Laser Pillar. Imagine getting trapped inside a Laser Pillar that deals damage every 0.2 second."
Q: "What about Laser Turret mode?"
A: "This mode can collaborate with Saiyan Pipebomb more effectively, like, if zombies are close, Saiyan Pipebomb will activate the 'Ultra Instinct' to warp to the zombies nearby & deal damage. If zombies are out of Saiyan Pipebomb scan range, Laser Turret mode will shoot laser at the zombies as long as they're still in shot radius."


With this, pipe bomb becomes powerful enough to compete with molotov in killing zombies.


NOTES:
  • A known bug: If you throw more than one pipebomb before the previous pipebomb explodes, the laser position may become bugged between pipebombs. So, it's better to throw only one pipebomb at a time to avoid this bug.

@L_M , normally that should be possible, by combining the airstrike mod by Chimi & some scripts to detect a pipebomb thrown by a survivor. Imagine a carpet bombing air support that drop bombs on paths the pipebomb is thrown :steamhappy:

its implies that pipebomb can become flare that summon airstrike too
or maybe thats gonna be script idea soon:steamhappy:
