The M3 is a compact, .45 ACP submachine gun developed by the U.S. during World War II. Nicknamed the "Grease Gun" for its resemblance to a mechanic's tool, it was designed as a cheaper and lighter alternative to the Thompson. With a slow rate of fire and simple blowback operation, the M3 is easy to control and reliable in harsh conditions. It served in multiple conflicts, from WWII to Vietnam, and remains an iconic symbol of American wartime ingenuity.
