The SKS is a Soviet semi-automatic carbine developed by Sergei Simonov in 1945. Chambered in 7.62×39mm, it was designed as a reliable and accurate infantry weapon for mid-range engagements. Featuring a fixed 10-round internal magazine and a folding bayonet, the SKS bridges the gap between bolt-action rifles and modern assault rifles. Though eventually replaced by the AK-47, the SKS remains popular worldwide for its rugged simplicity and historical value.
