The Thompson M1A1 is a wartime evolution of the legendary "Tommy Gun," adapted for mass production during World War II. Firing .45 ACP rounds from a 20- or 30-round box magazine, it offered tremendous stopping power at close range. The M1A1 simplified the internal mechanism of earlier models while retaining the iconic profile. Used by U.S. troops, paratroopers, and commandos, the Thompson became a symbol of Allied firepower and battlefield grit.
