I like the idea of increasing the material cost, very good thought for balancing. Would you please describe how you're addressing power usage? The other major problem with the vanilla laser is that it had a rather outrageous power curve that became quite unrealistic to use in survival for distances greater than a football field. Please let me know, I look forward to giving this a shot.
