Quantum Entanglement Antenna

Description
📡 Entanglement Antenna

A reimagined laser antenna that uses quantum entanglement theory to enable faster, more reliable long-range communication — with no line-of-sight required. it just work better

🚀 Features
No Line-of-Sight Required
Skip the frustration of aligning antennas between ships or through planetary terrain. Communication works instantly, regardless of obstructions.

Instant Remote Control Access
Unlike the vanilla Laser Antenna, this antenna establishes usable connections immediately — no reloading or reconnecting needed.

Balanced Build Cost
Tweaked component requirements ensure it's still an investment, while clearly distinct from the stock version.

🧠 The Science Behind It
The mod is inspired by the theory of quantum entanglement — a phenomenon in quantum physics where two particles become linked, such that the state of one instantly determines the state of the other, even across vast distances.

In theory (and science fiction), this could allow faster-than-light communication, since no signal has to "travel" — the connection is instantaneous. While real-world physics hasn’t proven FTL communication through entanglement, it makes for great sci-fi tech!

🛠 Why It’s More Reliable Than Vanilla
By setting <RequireLineOfSight>false>, this version avoids the common issues with vanilla Laser Antennas, which sometimes report "Connected" but fail to open remote access until a reload.

Without line-of-sight checks:
No terrain/structure blockage issues
More stable syncing
Less prone to game-engine edge cases

📦 Usage Tips
Place on both grids to be linked.
Connect normally via the terminal menu.
Enjoy near-flawless long-distance control without awkward antenna placement.

🔧 Why Vanilla Laser Antennas Are So Spotty
The vanilla laser antenna is infamous for its inconsistent remote access behavior. The core issues come down to:

1. Line of Sight Recalculation Bugs
The laser antenna requires line of sight between antennas.

But that calculation can fail silently due to:
Planet terrain (even just grazing it),
Voxels not updating properly,
Antennas clipping into blocks or grids,
Angle jitter due to moving ships or subgrids.
When this happens, the antenna might say "Connected", but remote access silently fails.

2. Delayed or Broken Replication
Even if the connection succeeds, remote control block synchronization can lag or fail entirely.
Remote grids might not replicate properly on the client unless you reload or teleport near them

in other word The vanilla laser antenna often breaks due to bad LOS detection, replication sync issues. This mod likely avoids these by simply skipping LOS checks,

The <RequireLineOfSight> flag exists mostly for modding/debugging and isn't used in the base game.
KSH likely didn't expose or polish it for vanilla use because it breaks realism (e.g., lasers through mountains).
But for players? It’s a massive usability fix — and arguably more practical than the unreliable stock version.

@Dalten
the entanglement is about 10X less power hungry then the regular antenna

so if you want to make links to planets from earthlike
Moon: 200 km : 20 kw
Mars : 2000km : 1 mw
Pertam: 4000km: 4 Mw
Alien: 5600km :7.85 mw
10 000KM :25MW
40 000 km : 400 MW

I agree fully with your rationale, and I've experienced completely non-functional vanilla laser antenna for 6 years. I'm very interested in checking this out.

I like the idea of increasing the material cost, very good thought for balancing. Would you please describe how you're addressing power usage? The other major problem with the vanilla laser is that it had a rather outrageous power curve that became quite unrealistic to use in survival for distances greater than a football field. Please let me know, I look forward to giving this a shot.
