Description
Hello all!

I bring you the M-Labs Enrichment Center, commissioned by Mr. Danjrfan!

Although being more conventional in design than some of my other builds, this certainly was a bit more complex.
The design of this building is heavily inspired by an Art-Deco building located in Sundance Square in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Danjrfan of course providing me with the initial reference material.

The building, although being a scaled down, retains the most prominent features of the inspiration, including the many layers and balconies. The Art-Deco details and the clock-face are the most outstanding aspects of the overall structure and make it very eye catching from both street-level and from views in taller buildings.

Unlike my last few builds, this one doesn't have any interact-able features nor an interior. So there isn't much else to say. lol

Enjoy!

Lore:

Architectural plans for M-Labs Enrichment Center were unveiled to the public at the Bricksburg Technology Exhibition on June 20th 1928. With the groundbreaking ceremony to be held on the 30th.

The building was very modest in comparison to other design proposals featured in exhibits that year, and thus attracted very little public attention. As a matter of fact, very few city residents had heard of the corporation overseeing its construction, M-Labs. Despite having been in existence since 1845, the company was relatively unknown to anyone nationwide other than the Federal Government.

But that of course, as we now know, was always the intention. The intention to keep as many curious eyes out of the everyday operations of the M-Labs corporations various nationwide facilities. So very little attention was allotted to anything relating to the company.

This was to change however. This new construction endeavour of course came as a surprise to the Federal Government, as all prior properties had been constructed in rural, sparsely populated, areas. And even less so the fact that the building plans were publicly unveiled! This was all a deliberate ploy by the company board of directors to directly attack their rival, A-Labs.

Both corporations had been locked a struggle to gain increasingly larger stakes in the market, often involving corporate espionage which had been a common tactic ever since A-Labs first established itself in the United States some twenty years prior.
In complete subversion, this new public acknowledgement of M-Lab's existence was now a means of deliberately destabilising their rival, as they knew the technology they had spent the past few years developing was far superior to anything currently offered by A-Labs.

Soon after this sudden announcement, the press were allowed to tour a select few of M-Lab's pre-existing facilities and the many inventions housed inside. These tours were however highly secretive, and journalists were only shown little of the facilities and products created.

Various news outlets openly praised M-Labs, which of course led to criticism of A-Labs.
A journalist for the Washington Post later wrote: "The speed at which development is occurring behind the closed doors of M-Lab's many development centers has certainly come as a surprise for A-Labs. If change does not come at a rapid pace, rapid enough to catch up to their rivals on a technological level, A-Labs is in for dire political and financial trouble."

As was to be expected, stocks and shares in A-Labs slumped, much to the delight of the newly Appointed CEO of M-Labs, Daniel Johnson Jr.

There was however a problem with this bold move to suddenly shoot this previously secretive corporation into the limelight, the approval of the Government.

On July the 10th, Dan Jr and a number of senior executives were called to a private U.S Senate meeting to discuss apparent breaches of Government protocol. As has already been apparent, M-Labs existence has always been heavily intertwined with the United States Government, often dealing with many contracts with the U.S Military.
The eventual outcome of such internal proceedings appears to be a highly guarded secret down to this day.

This event did however attract the beady eyes of the press, who quickly capitalised on the controversy surrounding these events. Even if the vast majority of it was pure speculation.

As for the aforementioned Bricksburg M-Labs Enrichment Center, not much is known about its enternal operations to this day. Any other public interaction was cancelled, including the planned groundbreaking ceremony. Shortly after the 1928 incident, M-Labs quickly faded back into obscurity. This was probably at the demands of the Government, who would most likely wanted to keep its dealing with the company private.

There is still much discussion as to what the Bricksburg Facility contains, as building construction finished in 1938, some ten years after it commenced. This has lead to speculation that there is a vast underground network of laboratories and research offices.

It all remains a mystery... for now.
