The Rescuers - Survival Pack - (v.0.0.3.0)

Description
Tired of starving? Enought with injuries? SAY NO MORE!

Hungry? No problem, gather some stuff and prepare something quick withouth depending on those tiring, time consuming and delaying kitchens. Just a simple campfire and VOILA! Make classic Argentinian food (more to come in future updates) that can be quickly done just in a cozy campfire! Just bring your loyal tool anywhere you go, the preservable materials (that you can consume raw too, but will be better when prepared) and make yourself a nice meal to fight hunger.




What does my mod contains?
(Note: You can see the recipes at once by seeing any tier 1 cooking station, such as a primitive stove, campfire, etc.)

  • A quick and enjoyable meal from Argentina, known as "Polenta". You can make it right away with some corn, tomato, cheese, water, iron bars and liquid oil. (You'll get it later in game, no need to thank me). Oh, and you can make MRE's too. Otherwise, this entire surviving-soldier role thing won't make any sense.
  • The legendary "Mate", "Boiled mate" ("Mate cocido") and the unique biscuits "Don Saturn". (Available only at infinity express.)
  • Medicpack that acts like a medic bag (the brown ones) but cheaper (available at level 1 of the apothecary). Same applies to Extra ammo boxes to keep battling for survival.
  • Warning sounds that will make you become more aware at risky situations (Low health, low energy). Game friendly!
  • My legendary unique costumes of the clan I rule, known as "The Rescuers" (Will talk about it later. Armors have stats too!)
  • Furniture and decorations (some interactable!)




Q&A

1) When using the medic pack, getting hurt enought or depleting my energy, why I hear somebody speaking through a radio?

- Because I love Zero tolerance. I wanted to make a straight reference to it, as well as I feel it's more than cool and useful. I even asked for help (as I have 0 programming knowledge) to some people. Thanks once again Lofty!

2) Why we have only one recipe at the moment?

- You've said it. At the moment, as I will continue to add more in the future. And not only recipes but probably other consumables like candies or even, who knows, alcohol maybe?

3) Why it is just Argentinian food? Can you add from other countries or something?

- I don't even need to clarify. But no worries, that I can add other countries recipies, I can and probably will, who knows.

4) Will there be guns? Tools? Other?...

-I mean, yeah. Until I fugure out more about it tho... I was planning on making a unique spear flag but no clue yet as this is my first mod ever.

5) Why did you thought it was a good idea on adding warning sounds for low health and energy? Can you remove them?

- I mean, the intention of this mod is to aid you to survive but not make you broken. I wanted to make yourself aware at any time of the possibility of diying, so you can take a small break when fighting. I do myself become quite distracted and end up diying because of not paying attention to the remaining health I have. As you won't be looking upper-left of the screen most of the time. And even if you want to say otherwise, I won't change my mind. I like the concept and I won't remove the feature, even if you want to tell me to make it a side mod. Sorry in that aspect.




What is "The Rescuers" and why everything so military themed?

Even though I could answer this question in the table of Q&A from above, I'll prefer doing this here as it's a little bit long, but I'll go straight to the point.
Everything started when I was playing "Sheltered 2" one year ago. As you can create your own survivors, you can manage your clan too and the description of it as well. And so, I loved the concept and I wanted to make it at least something more, developed anywhere. So here you can see the true potential I want to express, in a game a truly love like project zomboid, or like here in starbound as well. Of course the mod contains pretty basic stuff (the majority of it) but I promise that I'll try to add more interesting stuff in the future (TOTALLY AVOIDING ENOURMOUS STUFF LIKE STRUCTURES, WORLDS, and so on. I would prefer doing a side mod for that.). This mod it's mostly trying to act as "vanilla friendly" to just give some "help" to those who ain't much of mass-moding their game or even for those with a very bad computer with probably less than 6gb of ram.
I know I kind of gone a little off from the branches, but here's what my "clan" consists of:
"The Rescuers it's a civil-soldier group that consists mostly of common and respectable citizen (neighbors) that allows anyone who wants to cooperate for a better world in the end of it. Mostly you can consideer this clan as an apocalyptic survival group. The Rescuers focus mainly to aid anyone who's passing through a rough moment like starving or even by recent attacks from raiders, by offering them medical attention, food and water, and the possibility to become one more and repeat the cycle, to extend the clan and re-build the world that once we knew.
Of course, The Rescuers won't give up on their goal. As long as there are people to contribute and those who seek a spark of hope in the darkness, the clan will keep fighting until it's done. I am the former leader and I welcome anyone who wants to join and become one more of the family. Remember, we don't do it to become rich or to reach self-interest goals, we do it because you matter and everyone else too, as we are living beings with equal rights to live the single opportunity in life that God gave us. And no one can say otherwise!

And yeah, this is the first time I created a mod for a game and specially, trying to understand programming with the help of others. Don't be too harsh with me for this reason, ok? I accept constructive/destructive comments, but please, don't be agressive and keep it clean. I might update these descriptions with the time too as I don't know how will they look in the future (until I get the hand of it).

I want to thank also to Redstark and Erina with their tips and knowledge in this game's programming language system, and once again to Lofty with their tips too, but mostly with the design of the health and energy warning sounds.

One more thing to add: This mod is not the big deal in size, it's just a few things at the moment (v.1.0), so if I were you, I would download it for the warnings mostly as I see them useful for those who really like or struggle to battle (and with other mods that make the game harder too), take it if it was a vanilla update.

First of all, Wiz. The sounds idea was to warn you every single time to avoid over-battling like if you had a soldier watching you and warning you to stop going nuts. Second, no need to call my sounds crap as I've put effort and ended up liking them. I'm not the best sound maker but that's the best it could come to my mind as well. Third, I CAN make a side mod to remove them if you want, but you please, read the entire description the next time, as I clarified everything here. :mpn_engi:

Onle last thing, the sounds idea are also mostly because of not paying much attention to the top left screen but instead to the center part where is the character, to give yourself the idea that you're about to die, so you CAN pay attention now there. Obviously, if you want, you can just tell me to change them to a different sound but less voiced or something. Give me some feedback withouth insulting if it's possible.

these sounds are complete crap, how can you think that this hellish sound spam from the previous sounds is a good idea? I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out what makes these crazy sounds
