M15T

History
The M15T was an improvised infantry fighting vehicle created in 1942 by a rear-line engineering battalion operating M15A3 flatbed halftracks. With only 31 units converted, the M15T was a rare field-built assault vehicle designed as a personnel carrier with direct fire support for infantry during assaults.
Armed with a 37mm anti-tank gun and a coaxially welded .50cal machine gun mounted above the driver’s cabin, the M15T offered surprising firepower for its size. Two additional .50cal guns were fixed on the rear bed—one on each side—covering flanks during close engagements. Despite its heavy weaponry, the M15T remained open-topped, leaving gunners dangerously exposed.

The troop compartment seated ten soldiers and was surrounded by 16mm bolted armour plating for limited protection against small arms. The driver’s cabin received similar treatment: reinforced with sheet metal and steel plates, leaving only narrow vision slits. While the added protection made the vehicle largely bulletproof, it remained highly vulnerable to grenades, anti-tank rifles, and heavy machine gun fire.

The M15T was underpowered and mechanically strained, often suffering breakdowns in rough terrain. Its slow speed demanded close cooperation with tanks and artillery, which would suppress defenders while the M15Ts delivered troops directly into contested positions.

Though never officially adopted, the M15T saw modest success in several assaults and proved the utility of armoured troop carriers with integrated firepower. Its performance directly influenced the design of later purpose-built infantry fighting vehicles developed in 1943 and beyond.

Stats and Features

  • Size: 7m x 2.25m x 3.5m
  • Speed: 30kph
  • 2 seats in the front, 10 troops in the rear, 3-4 crew for the guns
  • unarmed

Startup Procedure

  1. Start Ignition
  2. Pull Out Choke for around 3 seconds
  3. Disable and then reenable Ignition
  4. Press Starter until engine runs

Further Notes
- Front suspension is a bit wobbly sometimes, be careful when going off road
- it has Mouse aim steering
- the Choke enables a fuel pump, if you stall, or you notice the engine is about to stall you can press it to semi turbocharge the engine and help it. But only for a short time
- the aiming system for the 37mm AT gun is a touchscreen, and to load it you just put a round into the belt above the gun (its labeled 37mm gun Breech)

About the Project
The Pacific Front is an Alternate History Project about the time from the 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation.

I have opal shaders, but that doesnt really make a difference here
I just use spotlights to highlight things and have fewer shadows. So you can actually see all the details and whatnot
