Description
EMS-2 The Pillar is a large engineering spacecraft, which is the most technologically advanced vessel in the EMS series. This unit serves as a mobile or orbital deployment station capable of movement, material collection and field repairs of small or large ships in space.

The vessel has a non-standard vertical tower shape (for which it was named) and is divided into four decks:
- Deck 1 includes a three-person ship's bridge with a wide cockpit canopy, a navigation and signal tracking compartment, an upper docking bay, a repair shuttle hangar, living quarters, a hydroponics room, an infirmary, a dining room and a charging hyperdrive compartment.
- Deck 2 consists almost entirely of a fuel compartment that provides power generation for the ship. In addition, the main reactor, the gyroscope compartment and the artificial gravity control room are adjacent to the propulsion system.
- Deck 3 consists of a repair bay with manipulators, a life support control room, a server room with the core of the ship's artificial intelligence and a hangar controlled by drone.
- Deck 4 includes a lower docking station, a storage room, a materials production room and an above-ground elevator garage.

The Pillar is equipped with two retractable manipulators in the lower part of the hull on deck 3, which allow cutting or welding damaged parts of the repaired vessel. For the same purpose, a repair shuttle is used, designed for more minor work in space next to the main ship - it docks with the Pillar in a special sealed hangar on deck 1, opposite the captain's cabin.
The ship's hull is hung with a broadband system of sensors and radars, allowing you to track even the most distant or fuzzy signals. Priority is given to distress signals - the ship tracks the source of the signal in the navigation bay, approaches the crash site and begins deploying an engineering team.
Despite its size and weight, the vessel is capable of landing on the surface of celestial bodies, however, the landing process is performed very carefully to avoid damage to the landing gear. After landing, all the ship's engines can be turned off. At the very bottom of deck 4 there is a garage compartment with a cargo elevator, which descends to the surface of the planet and makes it possible to deploy an aerial reconnaissance speeder (it only works on planets with an atmosphere).
The ship's armament consists of two precision plasma turrets in the front of the hull at deck 2 level, two anti-aircraft guided installations in the upper part, two machine gun turrets on the sides of the brake engines and four security turrets in the radius of the cargo elevator gates on the bottom of the ship. In addition, from the control room of the navigation compartment, it is possible to remotely launch a security drone from a special small hangar - it can be controlled manually or reconfigured into automatic reconnaissance mode.
The presence of shipboard artificial intelligence allows the Pillar to switch from manual control to autopilot mode - this is especially useful when it is required to ascend from the surface of the planet into orbit, having previously set a GPS point. From the navigation compartment, it is possible to establish a connection with orbiting satellites and transmit commands to other ships of the EMS series.
