WCEMS - 2020 Ford F-350 SuperDuty | Wright County Emergency Medical Services

Wright County EMS was established in 1916 as a volunteer-based service, originally operating out of the back of a general store in Wright City, Tennessee. At the time, transportation was limited to horse-drawn wagons, and the service mainly responded to farming accidents, childbirth complications, and outbreaks of illness in the rural communities of the county.

Over the decades, the agency evolved alongside the growth of emergency medicine, officially becoming a county-funded EMS in the 1970s with the purchase of its first modern ambulance. Despite having a small fleet and a tight-knit team of responders, Wright County EMS remains a cornerstone of public safety, known for its dedication, close community ties, and resilience in the face of limited resources.
