Right now (especially playing singleplayer since game auto pause) if you get an event wich involve stress, you can change your focus back to "not involved" to minimize the cost. To prevent abusing this mechanic (and overwhelming micromanagement), perphaps this focus could scale from to +25% stress gain to +0% stress gain over a month or two ?
