Description

Real Loading Screens

Real Loading Screens replaces game screenshots with Real Images from the Cold War. 1960s-1990s.

Details:

A total of 30 Cold War images (replacing the original 30) of both the VMF and USN from the cold war are included, as well as an image from the Falklands war. Special attention was given to ensure that images are of a high quality. (Most images from the period aren't)

Only 10 images are shown in the workshop preview.

MANUAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED:

Manual installation is required, otherwise new images will not appear.

Instructions:

Go to: Steamlibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/1286220/3496235684/ -> Copy the ui folder

Then: Steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Sea Power/Sea Power_Data/StreamingAssets/original/ -> Paste the ui folder

Appendix

Sifting through hundreds of images from the era to collect photos of both sides, that are suitable—took a lot of time. Most were either Black & White, Poor Quality—due to Camera technologies then, or were the wrong aspect ratio.

I'm having trouble understanding how to apply the mod, is there an easier way to do it?

Beautiful mod and definitely a keeper! I do wish we got to see those lower quality images in there too though; the black and whites, the yellows, the really washed out colours, aspect ratios and the graininess all adds to the romanticism I feel
