ABOUT
Have you ever felt like zombies in Project Zomboid lack variety or meaningful gear? Most of them wander around in civilian clothes with empty pockets even those who clearly belonged to the military or emergency services. This addon aims to fix that.

Lynch's Better Zeds Outfits introduces a set of enhanced zombie variants with immersive, lore-friendly outfits and realistic loot. From military personnel and hazmat operators to hunters, survivalists, and even tailoring specialists, each zombie outfit is carefully designed to reflect who they were before they turned, using only vanilla clothing and items.

These zombies do not replace any existing ones; they are added as additional variants and spawn naturally across the world. They can carry useful loot ranging from survival supplies and medical kits to firearms, fishing gear, tailoring materials, and more depending on their background.

You can customize their spawn rate and distribution through sandbox settings to better suit your world or playstyle.

Currently, this addon adds seven unique zombie outfits (with more planned in the future, suggest yours in the comments!)
(All outfits are created using vanilla clothing and items.)

@Lynch do you have an idea of when you'll get Brita's Armour compatibility finished, I'd love to see fully kitted USMC, riot gear or bomb disposal zombies walking around

@Doe Sure, what is the maximum value you want?

@Naked Buffalo Damn! Those are some great ideas, and they'll be implemented along with everything else in the next update. A quick look at the next update: Special Zombies

Proper Lumberjack: Lumberjack is a proper lumberjack and carries a proper Wood Axe, they cut them faster than any other axe in the game. (The fire axes are for doors imo.) They would carry a toolbox or something and have a guaranteed box of nails and wood glue and some twigs or newspaper or something, basically stuff that can get you sorted out with a campfire without needing to check your bags for 3 minutes and debate whether or not you wanna start the fire with your clothes.
Right now, if I want to find a Wood Axe, I basically have to search survival homes, which I have to drive around town, find a barricaded house, make sure I can even get inside of it, then hope it has a Wood Axe in it.
Hardware stores are a 50/50, sometimes they don't have them. And those are the easier options. The other option is look at the community map, try and map out all the logging spots and then proceed to search every logger and warehouse known to man. Sounds like a bad time.

Slasher: This guy was a nutcase before the outbreak, carried at least 2 hunting knives on his belt, machete or some other short blade or spear is stuck inside of him. Kitchen knife or cleaver in his inventory, needle, scissors, scapel, any sharp blade object this crack pot carried. I'm thinking lab coat for his outfit lol.
(The purpose of this is basically to throw spear and short blade users a bone. Early game hunting knives aren't exactly the easiest thing to find and they all have very poor durability until you start leveling maintenance and Carp and carrying 20 rolls of duct tape.)

This mod is absolutely spectacular! Works alongside both Brita and RE mod in terms of spawning in all their types of zombies. I love the variety in my game now.

I had some ideas I wanted to throw out there:
SWAT Officer: They would be somewhere in between Homeland security and SWAT in their outfit, kinda like modern SWAT, I know back then they wore all black. So maybe like military pants and a military jacket, but then they'd have a Police issue vest instead of a camo one just for visual distinction, something like that. Their purpose would be to carry SMG type weapons, pistols, smoke bombs, short barrel rifles, so anything with "bbl' in Brita's means short barrel, m4, car15, aks74u, ak74bbl, the short barrel P90, mp5, etc, etc.

@Kek4ik_YT brita compatible.
Stfr compatible

Add compatibility and also with the Brita Weapon mod and the GunFighter Arsenal. Since there are two good mods, the first one adds different shapes and designs of emergency vehicles to vanilla cities and mod cities on the map. And the second mod adds a good and beautiful, real weapon. And also with the SFTR mod and with all the cities that are in fashion.

Sorry to bug again- Is there any way for you to boost the maximum spawn chance so we can make them spawn way more frequently if we want? I would love to be able to make the survivalists way more common for my post-apocalyptic runs, but even setting them on max I barely saw them at all.. although maybe I had conflicting mods

@Lynch thanks for answer

@May your L's be many... Yes, it works in multiplayer, just as the description indicates...

They're somewhat rare, but you'll find them over time. If the server started before installing the mod, they'll have to search for new areas that haven't been loaded yet so the new zombies can spawn.
