Arrow Fletching (Smithing) by El_Tres

(THIS MOD IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED WITH UPDATES.)

This is a rebalancing of other fletching mods with extensive reworking of the materials, perks and races needed to make arrows. Bundles of 20 arrows typically need 2 pieces of firewood and 20 fletchings along with what ever metals that are required, it takes enough matierials to make them that it doesnt seriously unbalance the game, but allows archers to do what they do best.

A new perk in the Archery tree at the bottom of the arrow will show up. It is required to create arrows.

2 low level basic arrows are available to make at the tanning rack- Wooden arrows and Chitin Arrows. Both have low damage but are easily made and take minimal resources to make. This is a throw back to Morrowind chitin arrows which I enjoyed using. There is also a "Honed Chitin Arrow" recipe that can be discovered. Also iron arrows are available to create at the forge without any other smithing perk.

All other arrows require a smithing or racial requirement and require a forge. For instance.. to make steel arrows you need to have the Basic Arrows perk AND the Steel smithing perk. Some races can make certain arrows, Orcs can make Orcish arrows without the "Orcish Smithing" perk, Elves can make Elven arrows without "Elven Smithing" perk etc..

You are able to salvage fletchings from all arrows in the world at a 2 arrows to 1 fletching rate. So 20 arrows will salvage out to 10 fletchings. This allows you to take fletchings off crappier arrows.

The fletchings are the same as Samutz's arrowsmith mod, with extensive reworking. It will conflict with his mod. You are able to pluck chickens and use all other feathers in the game.. including quills which should have an increased drop rate in specific places in the game.

Update 1:

Added Silver arrows craftable once you obtain the Steel Smithing perk while you have Basic Arrows perk.

Fixed a graphic text problem from lootable arrows.

There was a glitch with plucking chickens I fixed it, you can pluck them again.. whew!! Took awhile to figure out what the problem was.

Fixed a bug with the 20 Ebony arrows to 10 fletching breakdown.. don't think anyone will use that but it bugged me that it was messed up.

Latest update should fix a couple bugs. Let me know if there are any more. I will be working on a version of this for DLC.

Yea there are places I should probably change the ownership of items so they are marked as stolen in my salvaging mod.. currently it relys on roleplaying your character which some people probably don't care about and just grab anything that isn't marked red.

Alright. I like these ones better, so I'll subscribe anyway. :) Your mods are encouraging me to be the ultimate pack rat - stealing every quill and dish I see.

Doubtful, if they have arrowcrafting for the DLC, more than likely they won't conflict, but there might be duplicate recipes. This was made for Vanilla users.

Does this override the arrow crafting recipes from Dawnguard?

Fixed a condition bug that allowed Elven arrows without Elven smithing perk. Fixed the quest for the Honed Chitin Arrow recipe. Now it can be discovered by finding the right book, or you can learn it from Elven Smithing perk.
