SIS Flashlights

Description
What is this?
This mod adds flashlights to the game. They will light your way through the night and increase your sight range. Use the "L" key (or RightStickClick with controller) to turn a flashlight on and off. They require batteries and by default values they will last 65% of a day. You can change this speed through the settings.

Recommended to start a new game. Otherwise, the new NPC behaviour to equip/unequip flashlights will not work. (might even cause crashes)

Not tested in co-op.

Supports: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Hungarian, Japanese, BrazilianPortuguese, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, SimplifiedChinese, TraditionalChinese, Turkish, Ukrainian.

Features
  • Two kinds of flashlights. An equippable flashlight and a miner's hat.
  • Turn the light on and off with the "L" key.
  • Flashlights require batteries. You can find them in the world or by buying them from traders.
  • Added "Insert Battery" action in the inventory page.
  • NPCS travelling at night will equip flashlights from their inventory (if they have any).

Recipes
  • Make Flashlight. Requires Forge + 3 Level Construction + 4 SteelIngot + 1 Charcoal + 2 ElectronicParts
  • Make Batteries. Requires Workbench + 3 Level Construction + 1 SteelIngot + 1 ElectronicParts

Settings
The settings file can be found in the mod's folder under "Settings_SISFlashlights.xml".
  • FlashlightKey. The key with which you can turn flashlights on/off. (default L)
  • FlashlightKeyXbox. The key for Xbox controllers. (default RightStickClick)
  • FlashlightKeyPs4. The key for Ps4 controllers. (default RightStickClick)
  • DaysForBatteryDepletion. Days until a battery depletes. (default 0.65)
  • SpawnFlashlightForInvaders. Will spawn flashlights for invaders. (default true)

Compatibility

Joguei dia 2/07/25 estava usando o mod RV junto a o mod da lanterna e estava dando incompatibilidade, as vezes funcionava as vezes não funcionava, com esse novo patch vou testar hoje a noite.

I played on 7/2/25, I was using the VR mod together with the flashlight mod and it was giving incompatibility, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, with this new patch I'm going to test it tonight

I just double checked and none of the mods I use add any keybinds whatsoever, it's just flashlights, I also don't have L bound to anything in the in-game options. However, I started a new vanilla sandbox game with only this mod active, and the L button does work. Unfortunately I don't really have the time in the foreseeable to weed out which specific mod conflicts here, and at the very least a workaround is present.

I see, do any of you have other mods adding new key bindings? This seems like an incompatibility somewhere.

The flashlight wouldn't toggle for me with L either, but when I changed the binding to K in the config it worked. Not sure why. Playing publicbeta with zedmulate (and a few other mods) if that matters. Just wanted to report that here, thanks for your mods!
