As for deconstruction - while you cannot use Mass Production on bots, since they cannot fabricate items; did you know that bots can make use of the deconstruct parts of Miner, Residual Waste, and Scrap Savant?
You can assign a bot to deconstruct items, and then by shift+middle-clicking an item, you can give an order to deconstruct it. If a mechanic bot deconstructs the item this way, all the double output talent bonuses will apply. That way, you can fire-and-forget deconstruction - just mark an item for deconstruction, put it in a container somewhere, and the bot will automatically pick it up and deconstruct it at some point if it's not busy.
Is that still inconvenient? If it is, then I can make the mod applying the Scrapper tree to every crewmember.
Or is there anything else you had in mind that I missed?
Characters (Monsters) can only be looted once per team. If 5 crewmembers with Gene Harvester try to loot 1 Crawler, they can only get 1 UGM max.
However, Containers can only be looted once per character. If 5 crewmembers with Scrap Savant try to loot 1 Crate, they can get 5 Scrap max.
Since the only way to apply the effects that I found is to give every crewmember the talents in question, I feel like it could break balancing a lot to allow 5+ people to re-loot the same container. Ideally I'd like to make the effect happen once-per-crew, like with creature looting, but I'll have to look into coding with Lua to see if that's possible to implement, because the base XML tags don't allow that. 😞
