Map: Smolensk Stalemate - 6/22/1941
Gamemode: Operation (3 phases)
Invaders: Germany (modded (Axis)
Defenders: Ussr (allies)

LATEST UPDATE: Minor updates to uniforms/equipment.
PAST UPDATES: Replaced the since-removed-from-the-workshop PPD-38/40 with the Suomi (since it was based on that anyway, and I wanted more weapon diversity, since the PPSH-41 was only still in development). Replaced Stug-IIIG with Stug-IIIB model for period accuracy.

22 June, 1941. Axis forces blitz east across the frontier into Soviet annexed territories in eastern Poland, near the fortress town of Brest. The Soviet garrison is caught off guard, but puts up a staunch defense as it retreats towards the citadel to make its last stand. In this mission, you will relive the first battle of "The Great Patriotic War" as either early-war Soviet or German soldiers, airmen, and tankers.

Features setting-correct units, fully customized squads and equipment to simulate period-appropriate weaponry, and a custom ambiance soundtrack to ground the player in the all-enveloping hellstorm.

Oh it's great, I've been meaning to use it for some time, but this is the first one I made that felt like it would be worthy to post. I also appreciate the easter eggs, like the flag inside the outhouse lol

Absolutely beautiful mission for such a nostalgic map! I adore how the flow of this very much mirrors the original experience from RO 41-45!!! I am biased aswell as the map author so I know where all the goodies are placed. I love spotting the details you've added that make the village appear stopped in time. I see that I may need to update some small things like stone walls and a factory entrance within the final objective.

Loadouts on both sides are hardy in look and in utility. There is a constant fight for balance between the automatics on both sides - even with armored support in the fray, the combat still becomes hand-to-hand where each AI must look out for itself. I am really digging the medic using a different Mauser variant(?), the rifle from that mod feels extremely wonderful to use in game and seems to hit harder?
