BambooTrail

Description
BambooTrail by Veronix

The BambooTrail is a fully climate-controlled building designed for the care of Asian animal species. It combines functional animal husbandry with realistic habitat design. The structure includes multiple indoor and outdoor enclosures as well as holding areas for Giant Pandas, Red Pandas, and Red-crowned Cranes, complemented by terrariums and various staff facilities.

The Giant Pandas are housed in two indoor and two outdoor enclosures. An additional mother-cub enclosure allows for protected and undisturbed rearing of young animals. The husbandry concept follows real-world safety standards for managing potentially dangerous wild animals. All safety-relevant areas can be monitored without requiring entry by staff. The keeper zones for the Giant Pandas are equipped with separate access sluices featuring mesh visibility and CCTV, allowing external visual confirmation of animal positions at all times. The enclosures themselves include secure separation systems with solid metal and mesh guillotine gates to ensure safe entry conditions.

The Red Pandas are kept in two indoor enclosures and share one outdoor enclosure. The Red-crowned Cranes inhabit one indoor and one outdoor enclosure. The hall also includes two terrariums for Giant Leaf Insects and Indian Forest Scorpions, as well as a raised koi pond with underwater viewing for guests.

Visitor pathways are spread across multiple levels, providing views into the enclosures from various perspectives — across dry moats, water moats, or directly through large panoramic windows. Additional secluded viewing bays off the main path invite guests to stop and observe the animals in a quieter setting.

An integrated restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, along with a souvenir shop, offers additional guest areas with direct views into the enclosures. All essential staff buildings are located behind the scenes.

In front of the building, there is a themed East Asian-style playground with seven play structures. Additionally, bamboo — used as the primary food source for the pandas — is cultivated locally in an adjacent greenhouse.

Note on Usage:

Due to the size and complexity of the structure, it could not be uploaded as a single Workshop item or as an enclosure — attempts resulted in placement issues ("Blocked" / "Terrain modification failed").

Therefore, the BambooTrail is available as a complete map in the Workshop. To use the building in an existing zoo, you can either build around it within the provided map or save the building sections as blueprints and reassemble them in your own park. Although this requires extra effort, it was technically the only workable solution.
